Our average (at the moment stands at) - 14,894
Should we achieve 25K for both the Wire & Stains derby matches (can't see why not), plus a very conservative 14.5K for the remaining home matches - Cas, Salford, Hudds & Bradford then our average would finish at a very respectable 16,328.

| I'm not sure I liked it as much on Friday, there seemed to be loads of people who were only there because we're doing well. You could tell who they were because they left about ten minutes from the end and probably won't be back for the next home game. I much prefer a Saturday in the away end at Cas with the die hards.

Category 1 fan alert!
I know what you mean, though I'd much prefer a Saturday in the away end at Catalans with the die hards (not that with a 9 month old baby there's much chance of the Mrs giving me a pass to go to France for the weekend...). Category Z fan at the moment, only home matches and the odd Lancashire away game for me this season... I don't know if there's an "under the thumb" smilie, but just imagine I finished this post with one...

| Very good attendence but a few poor atmosphere didn't hear 2 songs apart from second half from the south stand 'Barmy Army' lol. Think we need get behind the players a bit more so they will perform a bit better...

So the Wigan walk is a myth then is it
I see where you are coming from, but your club are to be applauded.....if you can get 18k for us cockerneys, then 20k+ for a few more games is very achievable. I like what IL has to done to wigan. It would seem he has 'given" the club back to the town in a manner of speaking.

| I honestly can never understand why such a big issue is made of fans leaving a game early!! they have paid their money what the F@@k has it got to do with anybody if they leave early?? people want to just make a quick getaway, especially if the game is won or lost with a few mins to go. I personally leave as soon as the hooter blows but I often have to go to work at a restaraunt on Friday so have to leave with a few mins to go, should I have to justify that??

No, you're absolutely right, but during our period of super-dominance, it gave saddos something negative to say about us - mainly through the letter pages of the always compliant RL press. If memory serves, certain coaches would also mention it - usually on GMR, after Wigan had just leathered them.
Various brave attempts were made to point out that leaving early was not purely a Wigan trait. The 'St Helens Scarper' was often referred to, the 'Leeds Leg It' and the 'Warrington Waddle', but as only Wigan had a vested interest in seeing these truths publicised, compared to the entire rest of the league finding solace in the 'Wigan Walk', they naturally got glossed over.
These days I just have a giggle about it.

| I know what you mean but find it hard to giggle about it, especially when you hear wigan fans referring to it and questionning fans that have done it, I once had shocking foul mouthed abuse hurled at me when leaving a grand final 2 mins before the end when we were getting stuffed!

Sadly, people are easily led. Why anyone would genuinely believe that only Wigan fans leave early - when the evidence that other fans do it is there every single weekend - is beyond me. Unless it's something they want to believe, which is the key I think.
At the end of the day, there's absolutely no reason why you should be criticised for leaving early if the result is already decided ... particularly when it's a Friday night and you want to get to the pub, restaurant, whatever.

| All teams do it but on friday night it was pretty bad.
I was sat next to some saints fans at the GF last year and they left 10mins before the end. I had been chatting to them during the game, they even told me it was their first game of the season when I asked them if they had season tickets. All teams do it.
In my own world I would love for every single person to sing all the way through the game jumping around and then stay after the game to cheer the players off win or lose, but not everyone wants this so I don't really mind what other people do.
All I will say is that when we create a great atmosphere, especially at away games, everyone is on here posting vids and raving about how good it was, so why not have that at every game?

I suspect that part of the problem is the stadium we play in. It's a big, airy amphitheatre, and it needs to be packed at both ends to see the roof well and truly raised.
At Leeds, St Helens and Warrington, the small, enclosed atmosphere is far more likely to reverberate with excitement. Back at CP, the noise next to the Jim Sullivan Stand, under that low roof, was absolutely incredible. You couldn't hear yourself think.

| I have to leave early, every Friday home game as i need to get to work. Only by 5 or 6 mins as getting out of the East stand is a pain, start work at 10pm and often a few mins late anyway. Some times when kn0beds start off with the loyal supporters song i get peed off as i can say i was there from 1979 to date. Granted i was only a 10 yr old at the start and dont remember the relegation and bad times of the early 80's. My father kept the faith tho and took me all over the place in the 2nd div. Some of the morons need to open their eyes and understand they are not anything special because they will stay right to the hooter when the team are playing bad and losing. Peoples circumstances and priorities change as they get older, and if they ever get the privilige of having to work nights over the weekend maybe they will understand that life does not revolve solely around Wigan RL.
Got a weekend off this week so will see you all in Murrayfield, win lose or draw i will stay and applaud the lads off. Hope this gesture of my loyal support will make you superior supporters feel better.

CP had an amazing atmosphere. Hopefully we will see the DW full alot more in years to come! It's great when it's full. If there had been away fans at the quins game all singing, the atmopshere would have been great!
I think when Saints knock down their away end we should move it to our place and replace the south stand imagine that atmosphere every home game!

It will be hard to get 14,000 for the Cas game after losing to Quins - unless we beat Hudds both times and destroy Widnes I think we'll struggle. Lose any of them games and it's 13,000 max IMO.
EDIT: I forgot we have the CC QF before Cas - I guess it comes down to who we play (if we defeat Widnes) and if we win.
