What Geoff said. Means it can be a complete sell out rather than keeping 10-15% of the stand empty because of unreserved seating.

One thing I was a little miffed at today - booked my tickets but I'm going to be getting them through the post via the RFL. Now at least one of these tickets was going to be a Xmas present, individually wrapped up for the big day.

Is the RFL posting these tickets out before Xmas or not?

I'm getting mine through the post from the club and was told I'd get them a couple of weeks before the game.

I was told they would be posted out 2 weeks before the game.

Most tickets will be purchased in the last month leading up to the game.
A lot of fans have needed to buy season tickets, Christmas presents and everything else that goes with it (a night out can be £100 these days).

I just hope the club/rfl push the game with adverts around town in late Jan /early Feb with posters .....The Aussies are coming! Etc.

Not far off five figures sold and it's still very early for it yet, considering bigger priorites are season tickets, christmas, stuff like that.

I had real issues trying to book 4 adults and 2 seniors, via the Wigan Website. I jumoed on the RFL website and got them sorted no bother.

Not the first time i have had problems with official website.

They need to have a look at really. They lost out on a few quid last night.

I must admit I am surprised that the Wigan public aren't rushing to get their tickets for this one. I'm not having a go here, as I'm really looking forward to this match, but me and my mate thought this would be a nailed on sell out, regardless of price, owing to Wigan's current popularity and history in this "competition".

Plenty time yet - people have season tickets and Xmas to pay for first...oh, and new home shirts of course.

No, why would you think that? For a club famous for its excellent support, in perhaps the most interesting WCC for some time, I would expect more than figures to be limping towards the 10,000 mark, and to not have desperate, and IMO, inaccurate, comparisons to Leeds' figures from last season in order to justify this.

Not sure how the computer booking system takes account of actual sales as against generally ticket availability, for example those tickets sold via the RFL,but having just booked another 6 there seems to be less than 15% availability in the North, West and South stands and not a lot more in the East. Maybe Wigan aren't shouting about it becauuse they don't need to?
