Again that’s a truly spot on assessment from Madge.
Pryce did turn a corner yesterday with his solid display. He earned his shot yesterday and has performed well enough to keep his place in the team.
Lets hope he builds on that now as it will only work out well for Wigan.

Hope so; the lad has massive potential IMO. My concern is that it is still only potential.
The most complimentary comments I'm seeing, which I tend to agree with, are along the lines of: "did OK"; "did nothing wrong"; "fairly solid", which is a reasonable start, but hardly forcing his way into the side.
As Madge says, if he maintains the improvement, he'll deserve the opportunities.

Again, you have missed the point. I have not said he was terrible.
I have already said I hope he proves me wrong so I can be laughed at. I would much rather have a young player developing for the long term and save the cap space, but I hope he scores a hatrick next week.

So.. what.. every player is judged on their enthusiasm now and not actual performance?

| As for him showing no enthusiasm why dont you watch the match highlights and look at his reaction for Tomkins and Carmonts trys. He seems enthusiastic to me!

Mate I was replying to King Warrior when I posted that.
In a nutshell, your saying he isn't enthusiastic enough, and you would rather have a young player coming through.
I'm saying that Pryce did nothing wrong yesterday, and should be judged on how he plays, not how entusiastic he looks.
Which bit am I not reading? Oh, and isn't Pryce only 23? Whats the difference between him stepping up from academy and doing a job, and someone else stepping up from academy and doing a job?

Well, I think you will find the Wigan players love starbucks
Get yourself back on the saints board and go discuss the latics game at the pub or something.

| Starbucks is for puffs, go to a geasy spoon for one made by a fat 50yr old fella smoking a cig and have 4 sugars and a bit of cig ash in, instead of syrup and cream.

Just to stir the pot (and keep it from going back to a KP slagathon), what about Cafe Nero?

| My view on Karl Pryce was that he had an average game. He made the knock on and almost made another from the fumble in the corner. He did take his try well and took the ball up giving the forwards a break. Huddersfield kicked at him on several occasions and most of the time he handled it well. My problem with Karl is that at times he looks like he is going through the motions in the reserves. Maybe he has just gone stale at Wigan. It has happened before with players like Mathers, Brown, etc moving on and becoming better players. I would give him another go at Widnes next week to see how he goes. Maybe the try and playing first team will give him a bit of confidence that he is lacking. We have been proven wrong about players being failures, look at Amos last year and Paddy (although out of position in his first season). We wanted them out, lets get behind Karl and give him a bit of support. The potential is there but not the support from us fans to get it out of him. IF he proves not good enough at the end of the season then we release him. We are in a win/win situation as we either get a good player and re-sign him or we get rid of a bad one. We should be behind the 17 lads wearing a Wigan shirt regardless of who they are.

| There was a good quote in the league express today from Pryce. "If im being totally honest i was a bit suprised to be called up because the boys have been playing well. I enjoy playing rugby and I want to be playing at Wigan. This is the place I want to play"
Maguire also in the league express said "Karl Pryce is working really hard and over the last few weeks hes turned a corner in what hes been doing. If he keeps working hard then he'll get plenty of opportunities in the weeks to come"
Food for thought there methinks.

As stated before, it's a double edge sword though. SA went looking for work a few times in the quins game and was out of position in both attack and defence on a few occasions (and that isn't even bagging SA, it merely demonstrates that you can't have it both ways). Primarily you've got to play your position and patterns, run your lines and let your playmakers dictate the flow. If everybody starts going looking for work at the same time, the side loses it's shape completely and things fall apart.

True, yet Madge has rightly praised both Pat and Amos for doing it.
