Wow, there's some funny stuff in here tonight.

As far as I'm concerned... everything went Warrington's way.

They played better than us (We were a shadow of ourselves, to be honest), and everything they tried seemed to come off, whereas everything we tried went to pot. Fortune favours the brave and all that.

As for Sam Tomkins, nothing will come of his attempt to stop the ball being put down, he didn't try to hit the player, but he did something that was obviously wrong, and rightly got a talking to about it. Briers, on the other hand, took the mick with running down the other end of the field after trying to start the brawl, yet people call Sam a dirty/niggly player?

And Hock... well. That was just stupid. The RFL consider gouging to be on equal terms as biting, and with his disciplinary record, it's not going to do him any favours. I'd expect 6 matches for consistency, but wouldn't be surprised if he got 8.

In all seriousness though, the victimisation complex displayed by some people on this thread is risible. My post was sarcastically trying to point out that a lot of people put a lot of effort, devotion, and their valuable time in to trying to keep this website running (It's supposed to be a place for fans of all clubs to come and converse), yet these days the user base of individual clubs appear to think that the individual forums are that of their own and adopt an intriguing siege mentality in the way they react to opposition fans offering their own point of view (Of course, trolls don't help but it's too easy to immediately assume someone is a troll if they're not from your own tribe). This makes me sad.

People are shocked/angry/annoyed at the Hock incident in particular because they believe it to be a blatant act of thuggery, it has nothing to do with the shirt he happened to be wearing.

As for the incident itself, I'm afraid to say I've not had the fortune to watch a replay of the game yet, and I came to read this hoping to get a good description of what actually happened, unfortunately, I'm really no more wise to the incident than I was before hand

Before anyone starts let me say that I have been a season ticket holder at Wigan for over 30 years and have never seen reason to post on something like this.
As far as I'm concerned he was given a second chance by the club and now having repaid them by this should have his contract cancelled with immediate effect and left to the disciplinary panel.
It is always difficult in situations to prove intent but this is one instance when I firmly believe that if the RFL are satisfied beyond doubt then no matter who the player is or to which club he belongs then Sine die should be considered.
No matter which club you support there is no place for this in any sport let alone ours.
Let me finish by congratulating Warrington on their victory they fully deserved it and would probably have beaten anyone after the first twenty /twenty five minutes today.

As for Hock. Deliberate gouging is as low as you can get, and I would have thought that, given the faith and the breaks and the money that Wigan have given him over the past couple of years, Wigan fans and Wigan RLFC should be even more incensed than anyone else over what he did. He doesn't deserve to be on the same field as professional sportsmen for a very, very long time.

What breaks and MONEY have the club give Hock over the past 2 years?.he's not received a penny before his new contract started.
I for one believe him to be innocent until proven guilty.
