I thought we competed well in the first half but we’ve been terrible in this second half, can see another couple of Saints try’s

Sadly the try that should've been given on 42 minutes would've changed this game completely.

Liam Moore can never ref a big game ever again. His performance is even worse than Miski and Bibby's.

That and the bombed try in the second minute are massive game changers but we’ve been well outplayed this half and you can’t have many complaints with the result. The Powell sin bin aside though and we seem to have been at the wrong end of the decisions.

I can’t quite believe my eyes now. He’s not cost us the game but he’s definitely one of Saints top 3 today.

We competed with them in the forwards early and that's encouraging. We struggled to hold the intenstity across 60 minutes though and by then the game was gone. Saints look a fitter and more explosive side than any other team in SL.

You cant pass up so many chances in the first half - the first one in particular was a shocker.

The three quarter selection was strange. When French has played on the wing in Australia or with us, he's been on the right but was selected on the left. Miski plays primarily on the left but was picked on the right. Bibby continues to look anything but a centre and leaving Hardaker out of this game

Another player losing his rag and getting suspended at the end of a game already lost is unforgivable.

It's an update to the coaching staff, whilst we are better than last year, we are still way off. Our pack is still light year's behind the Saints pack.

Indiscipline and silly errors gave us no chance.

Saints are so intense from start to finish and have the quality to go with it. I think unless they have a big injury crisis they will win everything again. It also gives me a sinking feeling we play them in the semi final and magic weekend.

We are miles off as a team. The first 25 is how we need to play but we don’t have the personnel or fitness to carry it through. We need to drastically overhaul the three quarters and decide what we need to do with those forwards who have come through the academy. Shorrocks got 20 minutes and lacks the size to be a consistent feature in the team. Partington was a head case on the field coming through as a junior but just looks stupid at this level and then we get onto Bibby and Miski who aren’t the standard required for us to challenge seriously, even as squad fillers.

I’m left feeling more positive than at any point under Lam but if we can’t beat Saints with what was thrown at them today, it’s sadly going to be a very long time until we challenge for major trophies and we are back to being at best a semi-final team.

I fear we need a lot more quality than we've got if we seriously want to compete with the best team in the league, and that's not a one-season fix.

That was a coaching masterclass from Woolf. As soon as he seen Wigan trying to play saints kind of line speed he told saints to back off with theirs as he knew Wigan wouldn’t be able to maintain it. Little did he know they would only be able to maintain it for about 10-15 minutes.

You can’t turn a team into grand final winners overnight and wigan have a nucleus of players that they will build around. A top level prop, a decent 7 and a good centre puts you in a really good position to challenge saints.

The video referee didn't Pieman and some of the calls aided you...You've forgotten to mention the crusher tackle only a yellow card and not a red.

he will get banned so will be fine, only 1 I saw that was dubious is Hurrells, although he did lose control with his hand but carried on with the arm, any others he got wrong? What about the strip when we put you under pressure? lifted straight away, what about Passi eunning into Tommy and you getting the penalty?....nothing?

The Powell crusher was a red for me but other than that I thought you got the rub of the green, looked a forward pass for the Lomax try, I didn’t think Batchelors was a try, 3 blatant ball steals that got given knock ons, one of which would have been a try.
To me it felt we were some way off you today especially second half but we only lost by 18 and you could make a decent case for 2 of your try’s being chalked off and for certain one more for us.

Very touchy about saints for a wire fan

We are not as far off as some are suggesting.

The main difference for me today was composure. As they have many times over the last few years the penalties, 6 against and unforced errors are what cost us today.

We threatened and created chances, got a bit of bad luck and a few crucial decisions didn’t go our way.

I found the Hurrell VR no try a bold decision. I’ve argued time and time again when a player loses control of the ball (which he clearly did) it shouldn’t be given. That said, under the way it seems to be interpreted there was no separation proven in the replays so I’m surprised it wasn’t given.

It’s a great shame it didn’t go to the VR at the start of the second half.

For those who are saying Miski can’t run, he did today, for 165 meters.

Every one of those lacked purpose. He's a winger who can't catch or finish at this level. I'd sooner that than stats a forward can produce.

Doing the hard yards isn't really Miski's job.

It's part of it, but he's risky under the high ball and lacks the speed to go over from anywhere other than close to the line. For me, those are big drawbacks for a winger.

As with Bibby, it's harsh calling out individuals after a defeat where, from half way through the first half, organisation collapsed and everyone fell onto the back foot, and it's especially harsh when they're outside backs who are getting rubbish service because the pack is being steamrollered. But I genuinely don't think that players like Miski or Bibby are any use to us.

I don't know what the cash situation at the club is, but while some of these bargain buys do come good, the majority don't. I don't even rate Isa that highly. A model player supposedly, but if so, he's rarely notable on the field unless it's for bombing passes or incurring penalties. If we've got money to spend and cap-space to wriggle in, I feel we need to go out there and look for much higher quality replacements.

You can't keep relying on players of this low standard if you want to compete with the likes of Saints.
