Why is Joel only on 15K a year? and there is not a chance joel will get 500k a year a saracens he will get about £130k a year and hes meant be on £80k now. Do u think we should keep bringing good juniors through and let them go RU they knew bfore they re signed with wigan how much union paid and they could have gone then. Billy Boston even thinks wigan should just block any move on them. Jason Robinson even thinks now they have the deals they should honour then regardless of how much they been offered.

He will get HUGE sponsorship deals. Plus about 5x the annual salary he is on at Wigan. You cant "block" moves on players, were do you draw the line? If your blaming anything, blame the salary cap, we simply cannot afford to keep the best young players, they are instant millionaires if they go to Union, who can blame them.

if there instant millionaires why do england internationals have to go to france to get paid over £400k and they would lose sponsorship when they go there. I do realise union pay more but not as much as some on here make out. If Sam was a great success in union and won a world cup then he would make silly money compared to what he gets at wigan but its all ifs and buts. I just think sam could have a long career in league earning £150k plus hopefully £200k plus for 10 years but in union if he went now and it all went wrong and it didnt suit him and he walked away after 12 month 2 year when he wants to return to league he wont get any were near £150k £200k and he may never regain his form its just not as straight forward as signing a contract. I do think with a player as good as sam and a big a name now the RFL should get there hands in there pockets and top him up because he is a massive star. Sam should look to be a RL superstar and win World cups with england rl not ru and with that will come extra money and the rest of it. If everyone that has the xfactor walks away for a few extra quid we will never no how far RL as a sport can go in this country

Of course Sam would be foolish to turn down meetings and such like with these guys. He's an unbelievable player, a once in a generation player and he deserves the rewards that come with that. He's being very naive in keep posting about these meetings on twitter but he most certainly isn't naive to have them in the first place.

It's heartbreaking to think Wigan and rugby league will lose this lad but I've resigned myself to it. He's a gem and I've loved watching him for the past couple of years but he's going. It may be next month, it may be next year but at some point the lad is going and when he does I'll literally have a tear in my eye.

Regardless of what does happen though I'll be a 'league man' until I die.

As a Wigan fan id be gutted to see him go, but made up for him at the same time, he deserves the money he'll earn in RU, there are footballers earning 150k a week with half the talent Sam has got.
