Let’s me just remind you what this current Wigan team is. It’s a group of players that spent last season punching above their weigh thanks to the practices put in place by Michael Maguire. At the start of last season no one was expecting Wigan to be the force that you became and you took everyone by an element of surprise.

However that element of surprise is gone now thanks to Wigan becoming Super League Champions. Every season, whatever the sport, everyone gets themselves up to play better against the defending champions of sport. I just don’t think that this Wigan side have it in them to become back to back champions because it’s the same Wigan team (more a less) of Brian Nobles tenure at the club.

You still had some silly defeats last year like Bradford Bulls (22 – 20) and Huddersfield (16 – 1icon_cool.gif. Expect more teams to catch you off guard in 2011. It’s not fluke in what you did in 2010, but the element of surprise that you were in 2010 isn’t going to be there in 2011 and that will be your biggest downfall.

Leeds on the other hand just ran out of steam. The element of surprise will be in our hands this season because everyone’s expecting a decline. We’ve got some fantastic youngsters coming through at the right time like Watkins and BJB who’ll replace Webb and Senior in a few years. We’ve got a wealth of prop forwards coming through in the academy.

Leeds just had one bad year out of four last year. Wigan had one good year out of four. Yes you as a club beat us hands down in history. But when we talk about the current history of the players in the teams of today, this Leeds team beats your Wigan team hands down.

We are bigger, more famous all over the world (just go to Australia and ask) more successful, have a better under 21s, and are the current champions. End of arguement.

Damo !!youngun well said and of course Leeds have had 3 really great sides ,the 30s without a doubt and the 60s-70s and the noughties teams.leeds teams have always been at there best when its been mainly home grown.

Wigan did well last season. It is unlikely they will do four in a row though. It is very difficult in a salary capped league. Wigan will be the scalp to get this season and so it will be tough. Their team suggests they could do it.

Leeds have done something that eclipses a lot of what other teams have done in winning the Super League three times in a row. They look to be struggling now, though.

However, the most important thing to remember is that we haven't played one match of the 2011 campaign. Can we please leave this till mid October. It was funny, then pathetic, now it is cringeworhty.

Don't be jealous of each other. There's no point. be quietly confident or you will end up as sig material.

Also, you can't compare Wigan's acheivements in the 80s/90s to Leeds in Super league. Totally different scenarios.

Wigan had a fully paid up, professional (to the point of implosion) team that beat everyone. Leeds were dominant in time when there were only two big teams. Neither is particularly amazing.
