Well in my opinion Stuart Fielden is no longer a good prop I honestly don't think many other sides would have him, today he was dominated every time and to make it even worse he gives away stupid penaties and knocks on a lot which again he did today. The recruitment of players and the improvement of are frontrow will improve ten fold when he leaves, I thank him for coming and helping to stear us away from relegation but the last two seasons he's been poor.

| Well done to the OP never a truer statement that we need some size, power and strength in the forwards.
Webb is a must as he was available so lets try it again. I’ll state now that he won’t be the top meter maker in SL but he’ll offer something to us that we’ve not had since Faz & Pongia and that’s a true ‘hard man’ in the front row. The guy was an amateur boxing champion if I’m correct so he’s not one to mess with and it’s exactly what we need that little bit of aggression when teams are trying to intimidate us.
Then we need to replace Bailey with another 2nd row that has A-the experience Bailey has but that extra bit of class. I know some don’t like him but Tickle could have been that guy possibly for us or even maybe Pritchard, Purdham or Wild with a transfer fee mixed in?

I know the story isn't true but if it was Hock should jump at the chance if it was given to him.

Overall, has he been worth the record transfer fee?

Certainly not but the money paid for him was never Fielden's fault.
He is still pretty good defensively - he is just simply a liability to the side in terms of his complete lack of go-forward. He dies in the tackle like a floppy sock and its a sad sight to see.
The most dramatic decline of a player I can remember seeing.
It will be a huge relief when his contract expires.

| Owen Farrell, could we lure him back for 2011, is there room for him with Thornely, Pryce,Gleeson, Goulding, Locky and Tomkins?
To be honest never saw anything of him in league have seen a few games in Union the lad has bags of ability but would take a massive investment. Just throw it in there as people including myself have been discussing replacements for Carmont, Pryces and Goulings future etc etc.

People who watch the reserves have told me that Owen Farrell was the most talented player they have ever seen in the reserves.

Owen never played at academy or reserve level for Wigan.
He was outstanding for St. Pats and Wigan town teams though.

| Yesterday convinced me that we have no need to buy anything over then a back up halfback to Leuluai and Tomkins and spend the rest of our money on a couple of forwards.
Fielden has flattered to decieve at times but he's hit rock bottom these past few weeks. Whilst the rest of the team seems to have upped their games and intensity, his seems to have dropped off to probably his worst level in a Wigan shirt. He looks totally downhearted and like a guy that if it wasn't for his huge wage would probably retire.
Thats why next season i'd re-sign Coley to play between Prop and backrow and get a top draw prop in. If money would allow possibly even 2 with O'Carroll or Prescott being loaned out.
Something needs to be done.

| Shame we missed out on Ryles last time around, he'd have a good signing.
They've said all along that next year is our year for challenging so they've obviously been planning their squad balance around 2010...here's hoping!!

| Eamonn O'Carroll would hugely benefit from a year's loan at another Super League club - we can then assess whether he could have a future at Wigan.
Just to emphasise the point - most fans were agreed that we were in dire need of two new forwards prior to Hock's suspension.
I'm desperate for us to make the most out of our talented backs by bringing in some top quality in the forwards.

Of that age group there were probably 3 names that stood out - Farrell, Thornley and Liam Thompson who's just starting to play again in the academy after a long injury lay off. Many were split as to who had most potential. For me Thompson is certainly one to keep an eye on as so far he's slipped in under the radar a little because of his lay off. Talented lad.

Didn't we get £250K for Farrell and pay £440K for Fielden not to mention any compensation paid to Bradford for Noble? I know Andy was a loyal servant to Wigan but I am pretty sure he didn't dip into his pocked to make up the difference

I saw him play at hooker during one of the eariler academy games this year and he really stood out.
Somebody pointed out to me that his prefered position is back row but he seem well built and technically very good at 9.

Well let's hope we can hold onto them, and please Wigan coaching staff stop turning nearly every lad into a backrower.
