i'm sure there must be some people on here who have too many tickets for sat? i went and redeemed 6 STs worth of tickets even though only 4 of my family are going and ive given a couple of mates the other 2. might be an idea for anybody with extra to leave a note on here or head over the sheff board as theres a few looking for tickets over there too.

I'm getting my ticket tomorrow. I can get 3 more if required.

We took 2,000 to Cas and alot more to Salford.

I rekon there will be around 4,000 if we have a strong squad!

I wonder how many Sheffield have sold? I get the feeling that Saturday may feel a bit more like a home tie for our lads than an away one.

In the article where Aston is complaining, the RFL come back and say that all club were consulted and were given a substantial guaranteed amount to go with this move. Now that may be less than what they would have got for a game like this, but for a crap draw, it is possibly more.

Despite whinging from certain quarters, it seems there is some financial compnsation for clubs, it's just when they get a draw which doesn't go in their favour they moan.

Any spare tickets would be greatly appreciated, will pick up of course

TBH he should be worrying more about the game than the price of tickets etc.

You can understand where he's coming from though. If everyone had paid say 15 quid, that's 37,500 pounds in lost revenue.

BUT it wouldnt be that many who would atttend if the game wasnt free.

How many do you think we'd take? The sad thing is that for some clubs, eg Sheffield, every penny counts.

If it wasnt free tickets for us, i would imagine they wouldnt have had to move it to BL? so that would have saved them quite an amount of cash there. But, as people have said, the extra revenue from added people going due to it being free and spending their money on food, drinks, programmes etc may well make up for it, and more.

They didn't move to Bramall Lane for us. We aren't even the first game there.

Quite a few would, plus kids wouldnt have been £15 they would be about £5, so whatever they over spend, the others can under spend? if you get what i mean?

We don't get a penny of the drinks, food revenue etc at bramall lane. The Main aim is to build up the team and fanbase at BL. Even the crowd we got last sunday just shy of 3,000 will help massively as we usually average 900-1,100 at DVS. The powers at be at Sheffield United want us their for the long haul and hope to see CC semi finals, 2013 world cup and maybe even the magic weekend at the ground but this will only come when they regain Premier league status as the intentions are of taking the overall stadium capacity to just over 44,000 from the 32,000 it is now. Having 1,000 of your fans paying in full rather than 3,000 for free would of been alot more benefical but just the way it is.

When we played thatto heath in the last round that was free and only 600 was there. However if that was all paying gate then that would of helped them so much. Just the way it is. Swings and roundabouts and its daft of Ashton to moan about it imo. Whats done is done and having hopefully around 5,000 there on saturday will be excellent nonetheless for the club.

Having the magic weekend in Sheffield would be a backward step imo. The city is not a patch on Cardiff or Edinburgh and Yorkshire is already packed with Rugby fans. We should be taking it to places where there is scope for growth for Rugby league. What about a magic weekend in France? That would be more beneficial for the game of RL imo.

The challenge cup semi final double header would probably work well in Sheffield though as most of the likely semi finalists could take a big following there.
