Sam was lucky with one of his scores as well, should have passed to Goulding but went himself and only just made it.

Was a great game from us, was disappointed to leak in the late trys though i think if we had stuck to it we could have kept them to 6 or at least 12 and scored 50, never pleased



Also thought our kicking game was poor but im not worried because its been excellent in previous matches.

Well done to Fielden he absoloutely dominated their massive pack

And Riddell aswell, best game he has had in a Wigan shirt. Also Goulding - what a try that first one of his was! He really stood up and showed Madge why he should be playing for us today, well done to everyone though

I think we have really missed Phelps in attack the past couple of weeks, glad to have him back.

If were being picky Sam T nearly bombed a try to when he could of simple drew the man and given Goulding the ball but he stepped and only just made it to the try line.

Still things to work on, which is even more encouraging to know we can improve even after a top performance like tonight.

It was shocking, I dont remember us finding the ground once.



Our attack looked much more balanced with him at the back, and he was really up for it, a couple of excellent line breaking runs.

Awesome performance for 65 minutes. Would've loved to have seen us maintain that focus for 80 minutes but the game was won and the lads relaxed.

That kind of response after a disappointment the week before is the stuff of a class side. The kind of response that Leeds & Saints have reserved for teams over the years. Hull were no easy beats tonight. I thought they looked very dangerous in parts during the 1st half.

We seem to have finally nailed this attitude, culture, confidence thing that has been our downfall for the best part of the last decade. I hope we can keep this approach up!

Phelps was good right from the start when he broke the line and just lost his balance i think we was definatley in for a try there if he stayed on his feet with Gleeson and Amos outside of him, looking brilliant at fullback so far this year every time he touches the ball he's creating and looking dangerous

Let's not get carried away.

At 12 - 6 Hull bombed a certain try.
Then just before half time they failed to find touch and we got a good bounce for Amos to score.

We also got a bit of luck for Sam's second try.

On the plus points Fileden and Riddell completely overplayed their much vaunted counterparts O'Meley and Berrigan.

Still work in progress but we are getting more right than we are getting wrong these days

Is that our first choice 4 then, Eamon, Prekkie, Stuart & Coley? With Mossop as support in the 2nd row, with his added size. I didn't go to the game but all week FC fans have said that their pack would be too strong for us?? The pack against Bulls last week wasn't up to it and I think tonight's pack was the same as it was against the Dragons (another big pack)????

How good is it though when we can Win like that against a decent team and still have loads of room for improvement?

I'd say so after tonights performance, Coley and Fielden are the obvious ones and continue to impress this year. Prescott and O'Carrol both had good games aswell with the added size of Mossop playing Loose/3rd Prop when Lockers went into stand-off, it worked really well imo. Very happy with the first 65 minutes of Rugby, it was enjoyable to watch in attack and feriocious in defence. Also, it felt as though our error count was very low too and we played some very classy stuff.

HOWEVER! (Warning, negativity approaching....)

I was very annoyed with the last 15 minutes and it took a bit of shine off the game. People may try to brush it off as ''the game was won'' etc but a very good full 80 minute, consistant performance is what seperates a good team from a trophy winning team and the moment we're not there yet.

That ankle tap cost me £15!!

MM is complaining we only played for 72 minutes! Drop the lot of 'em I say

Think if you take were Wigan were in the League after the 1st 6 games last season and compare to this year,then yes they have had massive strides....

Last week and this we've taken our foot off the gas for 55 minutes in total and leaked 40 points - we aint good enough to be able to do that.

However lets end on a positive note - our front three completely dominated the Hull pack and laid the platform for a good win.

And so he should.

Seriously though, great response, shame about the last 10 minutes but on we move to Cas away.

Every week seems to be a big challenge, IMO our away form hasnt been as good as home (obviously) so will be interesting too see how we cope against Cas, if it was at home I would be confident of a win but im really not sure...

Hopefully we can perform better than we did there on Sunday than we did last year when we was saced by Sam with his hat trick.

Would love to see another 20/30 point gap in our favour, but Ill take any win possible with Leeds and Saints up next.

Our best way of beating anyone this season is down the sides of the pitch using our centres/wingers. There playing awesome and long may it continue as Wainwright, Shenton and whoever else they play wont be able to handle Goulding/Carmont/Gleeson nevermind Richards and Famous Amos.
