Just keep it up Sam. The day they stop booing you is the day you're not doing your job properly. They can boo till they turn blue in the face - it wont (and never has) bothered Tomkins. In fact, I think it's quite cute. All the "cheat, cheat, cheat" and incessant. boos. N'awww bless.

Two occasions stick out for me with Tomkins. Castleford away in the Noble era. Mitchell Sargeant, the blonde haired prop that played for Castleford took Tomkins high and late. Nasty challenge. Tomkins was getting stick throughout the match from players/fans. He scored a hat-trick and won Wigan the game.

Leeds away. Leeds fans cheering every time he got tackled. Kept the booing up right throughout the match - along with many "Sam Tomkins you're a w*nker" chants. Sure enough - Sam scores a beautiful individual solo try, sets up another, sets us up in a position to win the match and kicks a goal after the final hooter to pinch a point.

That's what the lad is all about and that is the real reason fans boo him. They all sh-t a brick every time he touches the ball.

Great to see Sam at the end of the match when we was all booing him sarcastically, and he run over with his thumbs down booing back



Shows that he knows us Wigan fans are right behind him, and I guess he got loads of messages of support on Twitter after the England farce and he knows whatever the others do or say about him, he'll always be supported by us guys.

Love the idea, Boo Tomkins. And just for those who don't know Boo Radley was a cult character (and hero) in To Kill a Mocking Birdicon_smile.gif

I've not booed him and I can see he isa great player.

But maybe he is being booed because he is such a niggly character. It is true he cheats a lot and in the game of rugby league (a man's sport [and lot us not forget the gentleman beginnings of the sport in the late nineteenth century)

Maybe he annoys the crowd not for us ability to score (or not alone) maybe they would prefer to be outclassed.

There are loads of players who are a lot better than Tomkins that I have had the pleasure of seeing and I can't think of them getting booed.

It is fair to say he is talented but he is also, to put it as eloquently as possible, a niggly, scrawny cheat.

He must be really good at that then too as he always gets away with it.

They are the two clear examples and I personally hold that other people I have seen play have been better than what I have seen of Sam.
