There's quality in Mark Riddell I'm pretty confident of this but he really needs to up his game. Looked very arrogant to me. Could be wrong.

I read something somewhere a while back that he is a poor trainer and tbh if thats true it shows with his lack of fitness. He has talent , no doubting that but without the work on the training field he will always underachieve.

If anybody watched him closely, they'd have seen that the quantity and the technique of his tackling was absolutely outstanding through out the game. However, he didn't take the line on enough and must have only been tackled himself once or twice. We also saw a couple of his kicking out of hand which was hit and miss.

did you notice the couple of times where he got stood up though due to his lack of agility and probably fitness . When your not fit you lose concentration and can fall out of position, he has been professionally coached and survived as a 9 in the NRL so I would expect his tackling technique to be at the very least good.

I did there was one point in the game where on a kick return he was stood in the Wakefield along with 1 other player hands on hips towing big time stood there hands on hips and did not get into our line until the 4th tackle.

He was slow getting back into the defensive line on a few occasions, looked sluggish to me.

p.s. I hope whoever won the players shirt in the draw chose Tim Smith's, they wouldn't need to wash it !!!!!

I was disappointed with Riddel today - although I do think he has played carrying an injury - he did not seem to be running freely at all.

The one area where we missed Higham today was at the kick chase - for all his faults Higham was generaaly first there along with Lockers.
