IF the game sells out, and by George I really do hope it does, it will be in spite of the RFL not because of it, just like this game survives in spite of the RFL not because of the great work it does.

It was a club event until we went to Brisbane in 1994. The Broncos management offered a winner takes all purse and then when they lost didn't pay up. Wigan, I think, had to take them to court. Don't know the outcome.
The RFL (Maurice Lindsay) took over the comp to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

I don't think it will sell out but that is mainly due to people either not being able to afford them or being to lazy to bother, not because the RFL have set prices too high. Personally I think it is a bargain to watch a great game like this.

However, the RFL have priced things slightly wrong over recent years because they have not built up the demand. If they had £15 tickets untill events were selling out everytime then we could up the price.

I'd be amazed if the game does sell out. Remember England v Australia at DW Stadium wasn't close to selling out with the same ticketing structure last year - and that was on a far more fan friendly Saturday afternoon kick off!

I heard it was about 4,000 on Wigan season ticket priority alone, but bare in mind the game is three months off yet!

I need to get 8 tickets for this game early next week, not risking waiting till Feb.

I suspect whoever told you that isn't allowing for the tickets that the RFL is holding for sale. Just because they show up on our website as unavailable doesn't mean they're sold.

I can't see it selling out the more I think about it. The pricing will have people sat in the pub or in the living room.

They should have made behinds the sticks £20 (which they are) and 25 down both side generate sell out and still make some money.

I've said iit before and i know its been a Sunday night for the past few years but I CAN'T BELIEVE the RFL are having what is effectively a final on a Sunday night in February! Its absolutely ludicrous!

Saturday night at 6pm would have been fantastic. Even 8pm on a Friday would have been great.

I agree but on this occasion the RFL didn't have a choice in it. Latics play Man Utd on the Saturday so we had to play Sunday. Only alternative would be to play at Bolton and personally I'd rather not go up there.

According to the Wigan webisite they only have approx 5k tickets to sell. How many ticket did the RFL originally take to sell through their website and how many have they actually sold?

4 and a half thousand dollars almost £3000 pp???? theyll be lucky if they get any!

Although hardly in their thousands, you'd be surprised how many Aussies have booked tickets already.
