| The good thing about watching Wigan is that a lot of the undesirable element is syphoned off to the football club, never to return thank god. You can take kids to watch Wigan and not be subjected to foul language, never mind violence. I was in 2 minds yesterday whether to wear my Wigan shirt, and did the Wigan walk after 77 minutes to avoid what I perceived would be hassle from the Warrington fans after the game. Not something I usually have to do.

| Think all of this is being blown out of proportion a little bit. It was a cup Semi Final and emotions were high and some minorities may have caused trouble but this isn't Green Street or the Football Factory standards.
My friend was hit by a bottle in the West stand (not sure if it was a Wire or a Wiganer) and on the coach back home we got a few one fingered salutes, chants and people throwing paper at our coach.
I don't condone any violence but I do expect it in such an encounter and I did think it was mild but that was only from my perspective.

Sorry but the only hassle I have had in recent seasons has been at Salford - from local idiots not fans; and Warrington. Sorry if you don't like that.

| Just thought I'd jump on here and throw my twopence in.
I was in the West Stand in my Wire shirt, Block F to be precise, so completely surrounded by Wigan fans.
For the most part, they were very nice people, friendly and knoweldgeable (I swapped seats in the Second Half as there was a space and enjoyed a great conversation with the bloke I was sat next to).
Some were using bad language and making obscene remarks about my shirt and myself, which wasn't nice when I had a five year old with me, but I laughed it off as banter and nothing much came of it. There were enough comments, however, and the manner in which they were delivered suggested things wouldn't have been so amicable if it wasn't for the child present.
After the match, there were handshakes, hugs and well wishes all round as the Wigan fans left the stadium and I stayed to applaud both teams off the pitch, while a couple of s barged past with an angry scowl, knuckles dragging on the floor.
For some reason, those well mannered and pleasant fans either don't use the internet, or do and change personalities in an instant. I saw enough angry and bitter comments of facebook to sour my opinion of people I called friends. I understand that people are frustrated over alleged incidents - and I don't suggest for one minute that Warrington fans are angels - but to tar every wire fan with the same brush and to suggest that Wigan fans were completely innocent is ignorant and blinkered.
I didn't see any trouble outside the ground, but did notice the lads near the drum underneath the scoreboard looking to goad the Warrington fans in the West Stand and there seemed to be a commotion over in that corner, but couldn't see itfrom my seat.

Seem like you did ok overall - there's no way on earth I would have taken my kids into the Warrington end.

| In the right hand section of the west stand where the wire lot where, there was some violence with 3 men being kicked out. I was informed that they were 3 Warrington fans (not 100% sure) but they'd been warned few times. next minute there was punches being thrown on the aisles and one smaller older man with white shirt on grabbing another mans throat and another bigger guy with black top on bein restrained by police. The 2 of them were kicked out but were pushing police off them to try and get back in the ground. Frankly its pretty sad that they wanna come and fight when theres such an exciting game being played.

Well, you mustn't have seen us, then.
We were six supporters in the middle of the Wigan fans in the North stand.
We received some bewildered looks from some of the Wigan fans but I can say that every one was courteous and friendly towards us.
We were loud and proud as were the Wigan fans, and there was no worry or tension.
The banter was good and there were handshakes at the end.
Please don't confuse us with the mindless minority, which all clubs have.

| Putting the boot on the other foot, walking back past the coaches opposite the playing field a woman in a Wigan Shirt repeatedly hit a warrington speccy around the head with her handbag. He stood with his hands in the air saying whats that for, the response "Coz your'e wire scum'
Both Wigan and Warrington fans stood bemused as they watched what went on. Some Wigan fans even appologised to the bloke and said we aren't all like that you know.
It takes all sorts.

In all the finals over the years I've been against Wigan, hull, Catalan, bulls, Leeds and the giants it's always been a good family day out.
I can't see that being the case with the wolves fans!'"
you absolute f ing tool. Having been to the last couple of GF's I will not go if saints get there due to the amount of abuse and trouble your so called fans caused. there is often a little trouble at these events and those that caused it should be barred from all grounds. On the whole the big events are well attended by true Rl fans from every club within the game. but on the flip side you also get the glory boys who get tanked up and don't respect the game.

I just looked at that photo assuming its g*tty images 89710676 and what a surprise the four drunken s from row 14 who wanted to fight everybody mentioned in my earlier post are in the middle of the action, all shirtless, with the ringleader stood sideways on, nearest pitch level. The action looks to be taking place on row 6........ they were sat in row 14? must have been a bit boring for them up there so they jojned in on the hearest fight

| How do you work that one out.......... you can't even see them in the photo because of the stewards, or perhaps with your primrose and blue tinted spectacles on you are able to see things mere mortals cannot.
I can tell you now that the four shirt-less "two pint special forces troopers" in the photo weren't Wigan fans, and have travelled from row 14 to join in the mellee, now that's what I call travelling supporters
That said there's nothing to say they are true wire fans either as they didn't bother to come in your colours , but they were supporting your team - still, if you don't spend the money on the shirt, you can use it to fully cover the cost of getting pish'd up at every game of the season.

Reread what a said it was a guess due to the fact wire fans are pointing an laughing at the one being taken away. jeez this crap is gay its all you have moaned about since the match finished and tried to use as some kind of points scoring thing on a RL forum.
