Luauki has consistently done nothing for the last two years and when he left NZ Warriors they said the same about him too. Im not having a pop at Wigan or its supporters, i just cant believe that a team challenging for silverware (and i dont include ourselves in that group) would take on a player who doesnt run his weight, is poor at tackling and is generally just a lazy player. History says thats not suddenly about to change imo.

Well he's a Wigan player now, so he'll got my full support. He may not have had the best of times at FC, but I certainly shan't be judging him in Wigan colors before he's even picked up a ball.

Interesting to note that Lenegan has very little of own to say on this signing. It's pretty much all on Wane's shoulders, Shaun wanted him from the beginning. Be a good test of Wane's credentials of turning players around. If Wigan do make Lauaki a success then all credit to Shaun.

The main thing seems to be that Wane rates him and thinks with his coaching (and presumably Bitcon's interventions) he can be a great player for us

That being the case, it's a huge, almost uneccessary risk to give him a three year deal with an option for a fourth? Surely it would be far more prudent to just give him a one year contract with an option for another year?

He showed passing glimpses of potential at Hull FC then faded away. Shaun Wane backs him and after seeing how some of our other forwards have progressed (Coley, Mossop, Prescott) I'm willing to reserve judgement until he's had a full pre-season with Bitcom and the rest of the coaching staff.

Then give him a one year deal with an option on the others to prove himself because he has a lot to prove given how poor he has been for Hull. Not a three year deal form the off with an option of a fourth. if he would not sign for those sort of terms then he should not have been signed.

Remember when we signed DV on a four year deal? Took the micky for most of them and we could not get shut.

Get some fat stripped off this guy and he has the potential to be monster, hardly playing under Wayne Bennett at Hull was he, Agar is a shocking coach.Wigan are stupid, they have signed him for a reason, they obviously see potential in the guy, he has my full backing.

is pretty decent, it's not like he's vital to our plans. He'll just add a bit of impact off the bench. If he doesn't offer that then Hock or Tuson will take his spot. What it does do is encourage competition for places which I'm all for

Lauaki at his best is a devastating damaging ball runner who can cause Havoc. Lauaki at his worst is an ill disciplined penalty machine.

If we get the former I'll be delighted, If we get the latter I'll be furious.

when lauaki first signed for hull he was aggresive and a good impact player, only when it was the hull derby in 2010 and silverwood picked him out saying "im watching you" after being targetted with cheap shots from newton and other kr players and being foolisht to retaliate he seemed to lose all hunger and aggression and he became lazy, uninterested and a plodder, agar didn't know how to use him, (or the rest of the squad tbh)

I remember watching the first game of last season when Hull beat Saints at their place in the fog, Sean Long's first game for them if I re-call; and he came on and looked fantastic.

Every other time I've watched him he hasn't played anywhere near as well.

I am very underwhelmed by this signing and hopes Mr L has something good up his sleeve with regards to a centre and hooker/half back.

It looks OK but listing them like you have highlights for me how we are significantly weaker than last season.

Losing Hoffman, Tomkins and Coley as pack options leaves us lacking in depth once again. The same for the halves and hooker now that Deacon's gone - we're in trouble if Leuluai or Finch get injured.

Bottom line is we needed to have some established quality lined up to replace the departures. Having faith in academy players is great but if Lenagan and Wane don't believe we'll be taking a step backwards next year on the back these changes in personnel, they'll turn out to be mistaken in my opinion.

Would be pretty difficult to get a 27-year-old to agree to a deal balanced so much in the club's favour. It is not like a Tim Smith situation where there is an overriding issue of bad professionalism. He seems to have underperformed at Hull, but as has been said there are any number of reasons why this might have been, substandard fitness and technical coaching being one of them.

Since he's been back his attack has been good but he's also looked unfit and a liability in defence. He may well get back to his best but I wouldn't assume it until I've seen pre season indications of it. Let's not get too carried away with a hat trick against Wakefield, it takes a long time to get over two years out of the game, then walking back into a very different team. Lauaki may well start the season as the better option on the bench.

Spot on for me. I'm not averse to backing our Head Coach and signing him, but a three-year deal with an option for a fourth for a player by the clubs own admission needs work seems ludicrous.

His salary will not be much, but a one year deal would have been the much wiser move. And as you say, if Lauaki wasn't happy with that - don't sign him.

Wasnt best pleased about this rumour when I first heard it, but on reflection he has potential, will want to impress here and I have no doubt that if he underperforms Wane will not hesitate to bring someone from the under 20s in. He will be in competition with Liam Farrell, Harrison Hansen, Gareth Hock, Chris Tuson and Jack Hughes all will be chomping at the bit to nail down a first team spot.

If Lauaki had refused a one year deal to join one of the premier clubs in world rugby then he is absolutely mad.

And if he demanded a three year deal and Wigan caved then we are also - mad.
