| wigan were lucky to win --- rubbish you play for 80 mins... wigan showed determination....
how many times have saints won at the death... now the boot is on the other foot you cant swallow it.... and look for any excuses
as for wigan we have not hit top form so far this season so when we do and do it with consistency no one would be able to live with us
as for saints saying they are not bothered/putting on a brave face they were gutted at this loss
because it was wigan who beat them...any other team and then they can say they are not bothered...
just looking at their faces on tv told the story.......

| Quote ="SaintsFan"True. I forgot you didn't convert the forward pass try. Pat Richards isn't perfect after all. Either way, that forward pass decided the outcome of the game. Had you not been awarded that try, and you should not have been, we would have gained a point from that match and you would not have won. But more to the point is that forward passes should be called, no matter who performs them, especially on the way to the tryline because the outcome of the game could depend upon them.'"
But, but, but................if, if, if.
DIDN'T.
For those with their head up their a[ir[/ise:
Wigan made considerably more metres
Wigan had a higher completion rate
Wigan made more clean breaks
Wigan made more offloads
Wigan made less errors
Wigan missed fewer tackles
Oh yeah,
Wigan score more points.
I'm sure every will agree those are the stats of a Stains team who were all over us.

| I was absolutely gutted after the game and I still am. No matter what the consequence of the game it is still one of the biggest games of the season.
It was a fantastic enjoyable game and both teams could of and deserved to win. For me another draw would have been a fair result. However, this is sport, not the movies and at the end of the match it fell your way.
I'm not a fan of all this well it could of been, at the end of the day, Charnley's try was given. Whether it was forward or not is now irrelevant, I'm sure we've had plenty tries given after forward passes over time.
It was a great game, both sets of fans were respectful to each other. This was probably shown best in the Red Robin outside the DW, plenty of each set of fans and no trouble whatsoever. If Saints has won then it would have been fantastic however you edged it at the end, but it was still a great game to watch and as I said, either team deserved to win.

Well said! Now, when you're next over on your own board could you slip a gag on SaintsFan please? (and for Pete, there's no sexual implication in that statement! haha)

Your first try was forward (as per the Wish FM commentators), which in reality won you the game today.
Can we please have your comment on this?

The pass to Shenton was forward on Friday imo. Was watching on TV at the bar at the time and called it straight away. Yet to see an angle that proves it isn't yet.

Probably because they scored the winning try on the 7th tackle according to BBC Leeds.

| Our first 'try' was chalked off for being a forward pass. The first try was awarded after the ref spoke to the touch judge about a possible knock on. there was no knock on so he awarded the try. The 7th tackle was not a 7th tackle as the ref had signalled that he had wiped the tackle count clean. People sometimes see only what they want to see.

This was the one where the Wish FM commentators stated it was a forward pass as well. It should be on the highlights link over the next few days.

i think they'd struggle without richards however tomkins defensively is definately replaceable, he never gets under the ball to try and hold people up once they're near the line, attacking wise he probably gives you more than wello but i'd have wello anyday ahead of him for his defence.

Yeah Tomkins is crap, how the hell we won the game yesterday with him at FB baffles me. Can we swap him for Wellens, please?

Whilst I accept that since St Kris retired, Wellens has been ( Has Been) one of the top Full Backs in Super League.
However, after watching Sam Tompkins yesterday, I am sure that we have the most exciting player in World Rugby at the moment (yes, more than Slater, Inglis, Marshall etc). Even though he has replaced Lockers as the most hated Wigan player, I stood amongst the Pussy Cat fans yesterday, who booed him constantly, but by the end, they admitted he was something unique and special and even "paint watching" Kear was forced to admit Sam was 'sensational'.
When your full back and you nil a team, you must have some defensive qualities.

Not being funny, but can you imagine Slater/Inglis/Marshall against that cr*ppy Wakey team? Leon Pryce put on an absolute masterclass against a better Wakey team last year, doesn't make him better than Benji Marshall all of a sudden.
Tomkins looked toothless for England at FB last season, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Long way to go before he's spoken about in the same breath as those guys - I desperately hope he gets there in an England shirt though.

Jonny Lomax and Gary Wheeler tore Wakefield apart last week, they're not or never will be in the same league as Benji Marshall. Sam also needs to get rid of his fear of being tackled before the four nations or we'll have a repeat of last time.

That fear of being tackled that you speak of is ludicrous. You're not meant to be tackled you wouldnt score many tries if you didnt avoid being tackled.
He isnt soft as I assume you're implying because I dont think many would just get up (and have a go at) a player like Ablett like he did.
