We lose both Tomkins Friday we could be in real trouble. Shudders have just battered a team and we are missing the vast majority of our back line plus Fielden.

Especially after last season. It could be spicier than a vindaloo. Definitely one to see live rather than watch on Sky

Unless I'm watching the wrong incident, Sam doesn't look to throw a punch. He runs in and starts grappling with Radford.

From the timings on the discipline report Sam is being done for the 1st punch up when Yeaman threw a few and Joel responded. But Yeaman is up for striking after Joel clocks him with his elbow in the second incident!!
Not quite sure how the RFL have come up with Yeaman and Joel not being pulled up for the 1st fight! But then again they have missed the on report incident completly to!
Radford runs in and isnt up for it but is up for dangerous contact on Tommy!!
Doesnt say much for the rest of the Wigan and Hull players if they managed to join a fight and not throw a punch but Sam does!!

I think Yeaman is charged with the incident in the first punch up, if he isn't then it's a complete joke. He didn't do much wrong in the second incident, everyone came and in not many punches were actually thrown. The first punch up was instigated by him and started a brawl so he must be up for that, otherwise the RFL have made a right cock up.

Sam must be up for punches thrown in the first punch-up. In the second one, I dont think anyone actually threw a punch. Havn't seen the first one since I saw it live and even then I missed how it started so I couldn't tell you if Sam or anyone else is likely to get a ban or not. It wouldn't surprise me if Sam got a game or two though.

What's the RFL's previous on these type of incidents?
Hopefully they both play in our game, i personally prefer the opposition at full strength.

Well the Joel incident is the same charge that Carvell was faced with after leading with the forearm in a game against Castleford (I think it was last year) before facing Wigan. He was given a 1 match ban then had it overturned. With that in mind, the RFL should show consistency and Joel shouldn't be banned, as they should come to the right decision the first time round.

Sam should be banned for 1 or 2 games if he's run in and thrown punches. If he hasn't thrown punches (as someone on hear stated) he'll be let off, but if he has then it has to be a ban for him.

Sam doesn't throw any punches in the brawl AFTER Joel runs into Yeaman. I've yet to see footage of the fight that kicked it all off though. I'd be very surprised if Sam was the only one throwing punches in that incident though.

It was against Cas, I was there that night bloody freezing with rain. But Gareth's offence was not as bad as the photo that I have seen of Joels.

I'm guessing the photo you're referring to is the one posted on here a few times that shows Joel's left palm in Yeaman's face as opposed to leading with the elbow. Wire got Carvell off the hook after the incident in the Cas game by saying an open hand proved he wasn't trying to injure the player, whereas a closed fist would have suggested that he was. By that same reasoning, Joel's hand is what forces Yeaman's head back which is visible when watching the incident back (but the left hand is obscured), and since his palm is open it's a poor attempt at a fend and not malicious, using the same argument that Smith used to defend Carvell.

what goes against joel though is it's straight after another incident which makes it look intentional.
One game should be enough, lovin chuff it's a full contact all in game, lets not water it down so much it ends up being a tag game.

I think that could go either way, although the RFL seem to be at least attempting to be a little tougher on foul play this year so they could be a bit more harsh.
You could either view it as Joel going in for retaliation after a fight, deliberately raising the arm to strike Yeaman and use that as an aggravating factor, or say that emotions were running high after receiving several blows from the player a minute or so earlier (Yeaman was the aggressor and instigator of the brawl) and that he was determined to run the ball in as hard as possible but in the heat of the moment went for power in the collision and sacrificed technique. That seems to be how Maguire viewed it and I'd be inclined to agree.
It should either be a send off sufficient or 1 match ban. I couldn't argue with either as it's open to interpretation. It's Sam Tomkins who I'm most disappointed with and who I imagine will be much harder to defend.

I'd like to see main aggressors in a fight get the bin and leave it at that, if it's a little more serious red card and 1 match ban should be enough.
Whether the RFl like to admit it or not the fans like a little bit of biff, give them a touch of room and don't be so draconian.
I don't want the game turning in to UFC but come on RFL don't turn it in to basketball, we have the bin so lets use it.

When is the outcome of disciplinary usually announced? I know it's today, but I'm wondering ruffly when? I've got it in my head that it's usually around 5pm.

I want to be near the computer you see, so I can then see this board go into meltdown, no matter what the outcome of the case.

To be honest, 75% of the fights are embarrassing. They're not quite the handbags that footballers deal in, but they're hardly professional boxers either. In my opinion if you're going to fight, do it right, or not at all.

Anytime from around 6 usually, but its very busy tonight with 7 up before the beak so could be quite late depending on the order.
