Actually didnt see any yesterday....despite an overkill of them at st helens last week. Perhaps that was the problem.....if police were needed for an RL game they are more likely to be needed at a semi final where one of the clubs playing already have a hooligan element, are playing their biggest game in 20 years, at the ground of their biggest rivals and against a club whos shadow they have lived in for the last 25!! Yet there was little or no police presence! Stupid decision in itself!

| Yes there were some Wire idiots, but also some Wigan ones as well. It happens.
Congratulations Wire and enjoy your day. At least this time it'll be in colour

| Sorry to sound Captain Obvious, but it's just getting to the point of flaming for me.
Quite simply, any idiots who cause trouble in the name of their club should be sent all the way to Hades, and let the rest of us enjoy the game in peace.
I always enjoy a nice chat with other teams' supporters. I was ashamed to be in the south stand during the saints game when Kyle Eastmond was getting abused by some real bigots. I came so close to yelling at them to shut the hell up.
I feel ashamed at the thugs who cause trouble at rugby league games; not needed, get rid and let all us true fans enjoy the game.
Any thug can be damned to Hades fro mine.

Couldnt beleive the scenes after the game yesterday.....wires behaving like l@tics.... shows what an inferiority complex you have when you make your first final for 20 years and rather than actually be estatic about it your more pleased that you can throw $h1t at wigan fans!!! Pathetic Childish Idiots!!'"
Bitterness in the extreme, your obsession goes as far as having a Wire player in your avatar and a very good one at that. Thanks for the 100k as well.

| What a thoroughly depressing but predictable thread - team gets well beaten so an attempt is made to grab some sort of moral victory by labelling opposition fans as crazed lunatics. Thanks to the sensible people who acknowledged that Wigan have just as many tool pipe supporters as Warrington and that yesterday was pretty uneventful off the pitch. Quite the opposite on it...

| Was talking to Wigan fams before the match and after. They wished us all the best for the final.
I have written on other threads about the vicious element of Wire fans, especially at away matches, and my reluctance to be associated with them.
However, friends who were in the West stand told me that there was a small group of Wigan fans who were clearly out for trouble at the end of the game.
So accept that all clubs have their drunken idiot element and move on.
I am off to Wembley by chartered train where there is a no alcohol rule. That suits me.

Get a grip mate. I think you are bang out of order. How dare you tar us all with the same brush. Your bloody ignorant. Sadly EVERY team has a few kn*bheads that cause trouble but i'd like to think they were in the minority. I gladly did not see any trouble whats so ever just lots of Wire and Wigan fans enjoying themselves.

| The good thing about watching Wigan is that a lot of the undesirable element is syphoned off to the football club, never to return thank god. You can take kids to watch Wigan and not be subjected to foul language, never mind violence. I was in 2 minds yesterday whether to wear my Wigan shirt, and did the Wigan walk after 77 minutes to avoid what I perceived would be hassle from the Warrington fans after the game. Not something I usually have to do.

| Think all of this is being blown out of proportion a little bit. It was a cup Semi Final and emotions were high and some minorities may have caused trouble but this isn't Green Street or the Football Factory standards.
My friend was hit by a bottle in the West stand (not sure if it was a Wire or a Wiganer) and on the coach back home we got a few one fingered salutes, chants and people throwing paper at our coach.
I don't condone any violence but I do expect it in such an encounter and I did think it was mild but that was only from my perspective.

Sorry but the only hassle I have had in recent seasons has been at Salford - from local idiots not fans; and Warrington. Sorry if you don't like that.

| Just thought I'd jump on here and throw my twopence in.
I was in the West Stand in my Wire shirt, Block F to be precise, so completely surrounded by Wigan fans.
For the most part, they were very nice people, friendly and knoweldgeable (I swapped seats in the Second Half as there was a space and enjoyed a great conversation with the bloke I was sat next to).
Some were using bad language and making obscene remarks about my shirt and myself, which wasn't nice when I had a five year old with me, but I laughed it off as banter and nothing much came of it. There were enough comments, however, and the manner in which they were delivered suggested things wouldn't have been so amicable if it wasn't for the child present.
After the match, there were handshakes, hugs and well wishes all round as the Wigan fans left the stadium and I stayed to applaud both teams off the pitch, while a couple of s barged past with an angry scowl, knuckles dragging on the floor.
For some reason, those well mannered and pleasant fans either don't use the internet, or do and change personalities in an instant. I saw enough angry and bitter comments of facebook to sour my opinion of people I called friends. I understand that people are frustrated over alleged incidents - and I don't suggest for one minute that Warrington fans are angels - but to tar every wire fan with the same brush and to suggest that Wigan fans were completely innocent is ignorant and blinkered.
I didn't see any trouble outside the ground, but did notice the lads near the drum underneath the scoreboard looking to goad the Warrington fans in the West Stand and there seemed to be a commotion over in that corner, but couldn't see itfrom my seat.

Seem like you did ok overall - there's no way on earth I would have taken my kids into the Warrington end.
