Supporters like you Wigan Warriors RLFC do not need if you are as good as you say apply to I.L. for Nobbys job and lets see how good you are.'"
What agenda? Stating i should apply for the position is just silly.
If people questioned management and the leaders of the organisation a bit more we may not as a country be is such a mess with the banking. Simply because someone is in a position of authority it does not mean they are beyond question.
You cannot follow blindly. The reason i want Noble out is because i do not think he is the man for the job and is infact harming us more than helping us. I have made this assessment over the last 2 years. Noble will not walk away so i think a loss at Cas will force IL's hand.
Sometimes for growth you have to take a short term hit, a loss against Cas for me is that short term hit for the long term future of the club.

I can see your point but we've still improved every year under Noble so to ditch him, for me, is rash. Stability is key with a proven coach.

| I watched Salford and Celtic last night. Both team had numerous new players, yet played more rugby than Wigan. The plays that put Duggan over for his 2 tries were a joy to watch. As a Celtic fan I would have been Happy with their 2 performances and yet they're at the bottom with Wigan,
Saints impressed me because when they went 16-14 up against Wire, they continued to play attractive rugby and not shove it up the jumper as Wigan did in the second half at Hull.

In what area have we improved?
Defence
Attack
Ball Retention
Giving away fewer technical free kicks?
Discipline (how many sent off last year)
For me the only place we have improved under nobby, is that we dont seem to pick up as many injuries as we used too.

I agree that when the chips are down you all need to get behind the club; however, we're not in that situation. This is about healthy debate about what we feel is the best overall for the club; Jon should no more apply for Nobby's job than those who give unquestioning support should go into a field and eat grass.
This comes down to two things:
Jon - Correct me is I'm wrong - believes Noble's taken the club as far as he can and it's time for a change. He's not the only one that believes this.
Andy - Correct me is I'm wrong - you appear to trust the club's management completely and will let what will be will be and we should trust them or find another club.
Personally I'd like Noble to go to be replaced by Lam and a support team of his choosing, ideally including Wane & Farrell (when he can secure release from his Union contract). I'd rather this change take place sooner rather than later so the new coach can come in and assess the playing staff before the end of the season; that way he can have a better idea of what the club needs.'"

you have hit the nail on the head, times are getting harder and people want good value for money, as i stated in a previous post i think we are one of the most boring teams in super league.

The bean counter will ultimately decide; a coach puts forward a 'wanted' list in priority based on the financial constraints of the club. The bean counter and the coach discuss the proposal and then the club makes its attempts to sign the players within agreed pricing parameters and in away that will not breach the salary cap.
Of course, if you mean the bean counter signs players without prior suggestion/approval from the coach then you have a more serious situation...

Speaking of which you failed to answer my question. Why are you not coaching? Serious question. You have done nothing for over a year but hammer Brian Noble in nearly every single post. You claim to know everything about coaching so why dont you send your CV in to Ian Lenegan and lets see you take charge.
You claim that Ellery Hanley is some kind of master coach yet i fail to see SL clubs queueing up for him. Im pretty sure if Noble was sacked at Wigan he would get a job easy enough elsewhere as soon as a vacancy came along and he wouldnt end up coaching an team in NL1/2.

My original point is that none of the supporters should wish for Cas to beat Wigan on Friday which is what Jon was saying and we don't need supporters that think like that.
We can all ask questions and say what we would do but to say 2 games into a season that you hope we get beat so Nobby go's is not a logical remark to make.
He might have taken the club as far as he can i personally don't think that is the case and do feel we will get to if not win a final this year.
And if Nobby should go who would replace him what British coaches have we that are better? Edwards has no coaching experience in coaching in Super League and i don't think he is ready to come back to Wigan until his son is older but when the time comes i would love to see him back home. That means an overseas coach and who is available? all the best ones are with NRL clubs. So lets stick with what we have for now and if we are not doing well towards the end of the season then it time to not renew his contract and replace him now is not the time.
And thats my last post on this subject for now lets see where we are at the end of round 14.

It seems to be doing the rounds that Noble wanted somebody else. Maybe Buderus? Not sure but Riddell was not his first choice according to people who claim to be in the know.
Just to add i think the signing of Roberts a year early was maybe because we missed out on other players,Roberts became available so we thought we might as well take him now whilst we had no chance of anybody else.
Its also been stated that Noble was obsessed with signing Greg Bird so you would have to say he was not comfortable with both Smith and Lulu starting 6 & 7. I know Bird has not been allowed a visa anyway but our offer for him was rejected. Makes you wonder why we cannot compete with other teams money wise when it comes to signing good players.

Shame because this is at least intelligent discourse as opposed to 'JonH is talking cr*p' (inference - not actual quote) as we've had from some.

Because i have put my family first, i am now earning more money in a stable environment than i could ever hope to in rugby league, i was offered a position on the staff of a top SL club (not Wigan) which i refused due to the fact i have responsibilities and am not willing to risk these for trying to continue my coaching career, which ultimately is a very unstable profession and a change in personel can affect your career even if you are perfoming miracles.
Thats basically why in a nut shell.
I have been out of the game for 3 months by the way not a year.
Now i still await the answer to my questions about who is responsinble for picking the team, will have a major say in player signings and who is responsible from the balance in the dressing room and controlling these ego's and agendas if not the coach?
Wigans initial target was Buderus but Leeds offered him the big money so we went for our second choice in Riddell, a decision i do not think we will regret.
I have never said Hanley is a master coach but i think he is a good coach and also has the personality to succeed at Wigan something that Ian Millward did not and neither in my opinion does Noble, i continue to hear stories of unrest in the dressing room from numerous sources, also by looking at the body language of the players they are clearly not enjoying the game, have no enthusiasm etc have not for the last 2 years in general.
