Threw it together in a couple of minutes, it actually makes some slight sense, with the colours of both clubs on there, side by side showing that they are equal within the town (Even though we all know we're superior

) and linked together to show that we can work together.

The DW on the outside and switch of lettering to black is frankly embarrasing, obviously it was much cheaper to merely update the existing signage, but what cost does DW put on professionalism and corporate image, it looks awful.

Will be interesting to see what the seats look like in person on Friday.

My 8 year old, who supports both the Warriors (from the settee because he's not learning his swearing from me) and a Latics season ticket holder (gets it from his mum) has just seen this picture and his considered opinion is, "that's rubbish, I could have done better than that" he also thinks "The DW Stadium" is a rubbish name.

So, there you are Mr Whelan the view of one of your youngest fans is that your stadium rebranding is "rubbish".

Seen it in person yesterday and it looks just as shoddy as the picture. Tight Whelan strikes again.

For the first couple of seasons at the JJB Stadium (when our crowds were dire), I had a season ticket in the sply populated really posh seats in the West Stand. Often, a lad would sit in front of me who I used to chat to - he worked for a company in, IIRC, Horwich that specialised in stadium seating and had just done the seating at the Amsterdam Arena......I believe that they had also done the JJB's seating.

It appears that the change from JJB to DW and WIGAN has been an in-house, cheap job - you can even picture the scene of someone standing on the pitch and directing ground staff in the stands on where to place the seats!


Thank fook that they didn't attempt a portrait of Whelan on the seats like PNE have at Deepdale with Finney & Shankley!

Its awful but I couldn't care less in all honesty. Once the crowd are in you don't see the words amongst the seats anyway.

The JJB logo on the top of the West stand has changed as well. It is still a rugby ball shape but has a cheap square DW logo it it. It looks ubelievably cheap!

That is terrible, I didn't realise how bad it looked. Looks like a child has done it, typical tight Whelan, surely it wouldn't cost that much to do it properly and not ruin the stadium.

The DW doesnt look that bad in the south from this picture.

The Wigan is utterly embarrasing, its not even central to the stand.

As someone said, surely the letters are going to be outlined, or something. Even DW himself must be embarrased by that.

Names on seats don't do much for me!

I believe its the West and East stands that are to be renamed, one is the Billy Boston stand and the other the Springfield Park stand, which way round I'm not sure.
