It is likely that round three (Feb 24-26th) will be just the two games featuring the four not exempt from the Challenge cup fifth round (Leigh, Leeds, Huddersfield and Salford) plus the WCC (either just us or including Hull and Wire).

So we will start round 1 on Feb 3rd along with the other 11 teams like last season.

I thought I read somewhere that Superleague was starting a week later in 2017 to allow an International training camp with Wayne Bennett.

Shouldn't it be starting early to accommodate the World Cup? Especially if there's to be a friendly in the middle of the season as he wants (and the nonsense that is the WCC).

If there's going to be a friendly, then it should take place between the regular season and the super 8's, along with the Challenge Cup Semi Finals.

Perhaps giving fans 3 weeks notice of the super 8 fixtures may increase the attendances, which were definitely down on the regular season fixtures. It would also give some of the players a bit of a break, which may help both club and country come autumn.

I think I may have read the same thing. Of course that would allow the NRL based players to take part before that competition starts. I think the problem for Super League would arise about where to fit the extra fixture in. It woulds have to be before the split into eights. The suggestion mooted was have two weekends like the Easter weekend. I imagine that would go down like a lead balloon!

Ticket sales are doing very well 7500 up to now and more to come before Christmas.

Good stuff- hopefully we will get it back over 10,000 this year.

Decent news. On the club questionnaire, I answered my biggest concern as the falling attendances year after year (and no obvious effort to reverse it). We need to hit 10k S/T again, the South Stand was embarrassingly empty at times last year.

i think Hull are at around 7,500 too, both really good sales, and both should hit 10k

Last update I have seen said tickets will be ready for 1st home game. It's not very encouraging, the club should be sending out regular updates to ticket holders

Every game, or every home game?

I went to a few away games last year from distance: Saints, Castleford, Dewsbury, Warrington(?)... Sure I'll manage a few more this season. Though prob not Salford.
