I geuss this shows Magde and the other staff see Marsh as next in line at centre. But see Charnley next in line as a wing man, from what i've seen of them both i see it the other way around as Charnley seems to be alot more aware of whats going on around him and plays with his head up abit better. But i imagine Magde and Wane know best and what position they should both be palying.

If both came into the side as complete unknowns and I was watching them not knowing what positions they'd played in the reserves and somebody said to me ones a winger and ones a centre i'd be sure it was Charnley that was the centre and Marsh the wingman. I'm sure Charnley could become top class in either position but for me Marsh looks like he has most potential going forward as a winger. He's quick and has good footwork but plays with his head down and very much as an individual and for me that marks him out as a winger.

As for Charnley in the long term I see him as Carmonts replacment and with the size of the lad he could become a Keith Senior type centre who'll be a real handful to play against.

Christ, how much has Charnley bulked up then? Unfortunately due to Uni commitments I've not been able to get to any of the pre-season games.

A modest wager on Charnley to be "Rookie of the year" at 25/1 is advised (Skybet).

He's put on abit of weight by the looks of him but he's not quite built like Senior yet. He does look to have that sort of frame about him though. He must be 6ft 3ish and he's not skinny even at 20 years of age.

Give him a couple of years and I can see him being a monster.

Put the same bet on this morning.

A great price imo. If he gets enough games at Wigan he'll stand a great chance. I'd say he's only at those odds because his chances may be limited.

Don't think he's as big as you think NK. The Wigan site says 182cm (around 6') and 89Kg (14 stone).

He was very impressive against Warrington. The fact that we have signed him up on a long term deal shows that the staff expect big things of him. Watch out for him this season.

Does anyone know any bookies taking bets for Charnley first try? My betfred account aint got him listed.
