Also agree with Gleeson's GF try. Not far behind/even equal must be Joel's try against Warrington away when Sam chipped over and regathered.
Individual tries of the season were for me Amos against Wakefield ( when he got injured) and Sam's at home against Huddersfield ( from acting halfback).

| I didn't catch it but if it was last season then Danny Mac's (sorry i shouldn't mention the evil one on here) double chip over try was easily the best of 2010

Every try is already shown by Sky on boots n all so why can't they?
It was a terrible program but I have a feeling it was better than the union version.

| Typical crap effort from Sky.
You could say we easily should have seen more tries on it, but some of the tries werent even that good that were shown.

| Thought it was a rubbish effort, hemmings rushed to get through it so he could get down the hair dressers and get his grey covered. Rather than wait for the musicians to turn up; they used the ringtones on the producers phone
My favourite try was either Joel's against Cas when Amos ran through most of the Cas defense as though they weren't there or the one against Wakefield which unfortunately saw Amos get injured

| Still think Amos' try against Warrington was one of the best. Several passes round the middle of the field, then a pass on the inside to Amos, who beat the first line of defence, then left the fullback for dead.
Lost count of the number of tries this year from outside the opposition 30. Last year we seemed to score a lot from barge overs and chips and grubbers to the corner, but this year saw a good proportion of long breaks and good passing plays along the line.
On another thread we were discussing which players were indispensable. Looking at our season highlights DVD, it's clear how much was made by O'Loughlin in particular, but also Sam passing towards the wings from the middle areas of the field, often cutting out 2 or 3 players, and picking out a winger or centre on their own - the kind of play we haven't seen since Trent left. Lockers passed several of these over the year, showing great vision, and a skill that I don't think any of our other 2nd rowers could pull off at the moment.

I suprised the Union game could show enough tries for a show considering the lack of them in their games,
Super Goals would be more apt

Phil Clarke pointed that out,i think in the GF build up
said we were like a roman legion , with players coming wave after wave.
something i think we all noticed........our attacks wernt based on one on one with the hope of geting an overlap/beating a man/breaking a tackle........they were sometimes 8 players running at the opposition ..........pass 1.....2 dummy runners, pass 2, 2 more dummy runners....pass 3.......option of 2 players........T R Y !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasnt two chip kicks though was it? If it is the MM Sammut one then I think it was a knock on he re-gathered and then a chip. Arguably it should not have been given IMO as he benefited from essentially throwing the ball forward which could be argued deliberately to gain an advantage.

| He didn't throw it forward though, he knocked it and regathered, so perfectly legal. Joel Tomkins did something similar against Leeds I think in the playoffs.

Unless the rules have changed I'm pretty sure you're allowed to throw the ball over the defence and catch it on the other side if you want to, it just doesn't happen because it would be difficult to pull off, plus if it hits the floor or another player it would be a deliberate knock on - penalty.

Your not and never have been...it is a penalty whether or not it hits the other player or the ground - a player cannot deliberately throw a ball forward in rugby league regardless of whether it hits another man or the floor!
This was the reason I said it was a debatable try. In the refs opinion on the day it was not deliberate, however IMO I would argue it couldnt be argued it wasnt deliberate, as sammut reacted to the pass by deliberately knocking the ball forward as it was the only way he could gather the ball and keep it away from the opposition. Different IMO to what Joel did as he was simply juggled the ball to obtain control and avoid a knock on.

What would be the call? Can't really give a deliberate knock on or deliberate forward pass

as far as i see it it was a perfectly good try, but it's down to the terminology of the rules, an attacking player would never deliberately knock the ball on, thats a rule for potential interceptions, what sammut did was the same as Joel, but with a player in close attendance, so did he "deliberately" throw the ball forward to himself?? imo, he didn't

Your right....its down to interpretation as I said earlier.
I would probably be harsh in those circumstances and deem that as his only way of controlling the ball was to knock it high over the defensive line and re-gather, it had to be a deliberate act to avoid a knock on, however it could be argued the ball freakishly deflected in that way, rather than being intentional, and was accidental. Either way its a dubious try that could have not been given IMO, and perhaps shouldnt have done given the obvious advantage he obtained. That said it was still a v skillful try.
Regarding how it would be disallowed, I guess that if it was seen as an intentional throw forward by the ref, it would be treated as a deliberate forward pass to himself, as a forward pass is simply defined in the rule book as a throw towards the opponent's dead ball line.

That wasn't the one I was on about.
It was a chip kick cross field to the winger who then chipped inside and I think it was the centre who scored (v Bradford?)
I've deleted it now from my sky + so can't be 100% sure.

One factor they look at is whether the player has full possession of the ball before it goes forward, which in Sammut's case he clearly didn't.

I agree with Sams chip over at Warrington sending joel in at a close second.
