yeah i agree with other peoples comments it could be like sheffield or catalan all over again everyone thought they were easy games for us but looked what happened we were embarrassed in both give salford the credit and respect they deserve

tough game against salford, making it all the more tougher that they have got absolutely nothing to lose and they will come to just play rugby.

Although, I think we will beat them and go onto wembley. Id love to face hull kr in the final, both teams would take a shed load of fans and we would possibly have the best attended final for a few years.

Unfortunately none of our current playesr will remember a cup tie at Salford in 96, when Wigan were so confident of victory that quite a few of them went on holiday for a week instead of preparing for the game. When match day came, Wigan met a Salford team who were outraged to be treated with such disrespect, and subsequently kicked our asses right out of the competition, costing the club a fortune in the process.

I'll never forget that day. Salford were going through one of those faddy periods when they had an anthem for every occasion. It was 'The Vikings' for whenever they scored a try, and we seemed to be hearing it all through the afternoon. I realised we'd lost long before the end, though the referee (Holdsworth, was it?) bafflingly disallowed a Joe Lydon try when he was something like 60 yards away from the action, and that didn't help us much. But what a nightmare.

You disrespect lower-placed teams at your peril in the cup. And unfortunately, the current Wigan side has a worse habit for doing that than the previous one did.

A cup tie is a cup tie, and while I fancy wigan for this one, there is no reason why Salford can't turn us over.

It only takes 80mins of us being as poor as we can be and we are out.

You wigan lot really make me laugh with comments like its got "wigan saints final all over it"...dismissing teams in the semis (if you get there!) except for saints,i just hope to god cas go through and get you in the semis....because cas are quite good at dismissing clubs at their own peril (halifax) but in your case ,we dissmis you and usually win

Well Wigans game with salford wont be a walk over. But i think wigan will win but Hull kr V warrington will be a good game and it will be very close but i think Hull Kr will just sneak it. Gateshead V Saints will be a walkover by saints i knew they would draw them. Huddersfield V Castleford will be very close aswell but i think Huddersfield will just win.

COME ON WIGAN !!

If the players turn up with the right attitude we'll win the game and be through to the semis but counting on our lads to show up with that is'nt always plain sailing.

Salford will be well fired up for it but touch wood we should have too much.

The Hull Kr vs Wire game could be a classic.

I personally thought Saints could draw a tricky fixture at Hudds, Hopefully tat may still happen. I can see hudds turning Saints over.

last time we drew wire in the QF at home it was a classic and we drew sts at mcalpine and got thrashed 50-0 but now we are a super league club and id love sts in the semi if we can get by wire because playing sts in a cc final is not a good thing but it will be great to see a non sts final and a full stadium of red and white will be good (salford vs KR) haha i carnt see anyone predicting this years cup there are still allot of good teams in it and as we have seen in super league this year anyone can win a game
