| I'm a fan of O'Meely tbh and he's actually played better over here then I thought he would.
He's one of the top 10 props in superleague but is without doubt behind guys like Graham, Morley, Peacock, Carvell, Mossop and Lynch going off last year.
I'd have him in a similar league to guys like Wood, Griffin, Lima etc who are just at the back of that first lot I mention.

Exactly.
This guy actually believes that after Graham, Mark O Meley is Super league's best prop forward.

These sort of warnings sound very similar to our warnings to Salford fans regarding Feka last year.

Good post, the above listed had better seasons than him last year but I wouldn't swap O Meley for any other overseas props in SL.
We should have a good front row next year if O Carrol can stay fit with him, O meley, Lynch and Moa.

| I find it genuinely interesting that Wane has specifically asked for this signing.
It shows he see's huge potential which makes it quite an exciting signing.
If he has a problem with attitude or commitment then he'll have a miserable time within a Shaun Wane & Wigan squad.

True, if his attitude or commitment is not right U20's beckons (ask Feka)

I watched Lynch every week, including the Hull/Bradford games and I'd pick O'Meley every time.

Fantastic.
Hull have signed:
Lee Williams (York City Knights), Tony Martin (Crusaders RL), Jamie Ellis (Leigh Centurions), Andy Lynch (Bradford Bulls), Eamon O'Carroll (Wigan Warriors), Wade McKinnon (West Tigers), Aaron Heremaia, Brett Seymour (New Zealand Warriors).
This basically says that Hull arnt (sic) interested in winning SL for the forseeable future.'"
Yeah Lee Williams is a player we released to York, its usually good to get your facts right before trying to be a higher power.
Anyway Lauaki is a strange one, I am shocked Wigan have signed him but maybe they see some potential they could use better then Agar did (which would not surprise me at all).
He had a good game against saints one season, flattened Leon Pryce on his way to score and made a couple of big breaks as he can shift for a big guy when he gets going. Your two major flaws with Lauaki is keeping him interested otherwise he just won't run his weight and secondly is his disclepline. He gets easy wound up on a field and can cost you a lot of penalties , which you don't need as he isn't the best defender.

The biggest load of I have read in a long while.
How many of them other prop forwards you mentioned carry the same fear on a field as Mark O Meley, not many of them because O Meley is an animal. you can smash him and he'll get up and run straight back at you, then smash you back.
Ask James Roby.

O'Meley had a poor back end to last season as he was playing through the pain barrier as his muscle was actually ripped off from the bone.

Because you watch him every week
Ogre is a beast of a forward. He's not the best in the league, but he's definatley up there.

| I could understand (to an extent) the Lauaki signing, but not on a 3 year contract.
3 years isn't taking a punt or a gamble, that's a long term investment on a player who hasn't warranted anything of the sort so far.
1+1 I could have maybe gone along with, but we'll see I suppose.

| I understand the doom and gloom about this signing. I for one am looking on the bright side. The mindset at Wigan is highly professional dare I say more than at Hull, and Wane believes that he can tap into the undoubted potential. From people that I have spoken to I hear that he is rated by our players. So long as his work rate and discipline improves it could be a decent signing.

You really need to read those stats in the context of actual time spent on the pitch. Which in Lauaki's case, isn't as often as he should.
