We spent most of last season campaigning for a new contract for Higham, alright, so now we realise we are better of for it, but still, Higham was a good player for wigan last year and we all appreciated him.

Your really not doing yourself any favours by whining and insulting Wigan fans on the Wigan board.

Seems like richies found his level playing for wire...always knew he could be half decent playing a lower level of rugby for a lesser club, with less pressure on him





....and yes Gleeson hasnt even hit the straps yet but has done more in the 5 matches or so we've had him than mathers did (or didnt do) in his whole wigan career. To match mathers gleese would have had to have let in approximatly 30 tries by now, while scoring only two!! Hes got the try scoring record already beat, and i think I can only think of one try he could have been slightly to blame for.

Tony's had to come in and pick up a group of players who were a complete shambles, as you seen last night he's already given us more determination than I've seen under any Wire side for the past 5 years or so.

It's all ifs and buts, but if Smith had been in from the start, I think we'd be well above you, Lowes was on a one-man-mission to destroy our season

Wire have been poor for most of this season to date but the pies are a massive two points ahead. That's as much an indication of your quality as it is of ours. And forget this 'higher standards' rubbish, or we'll have to bring up once again the fact that your club risked destroying the game when they bought anyone that moved prior to salary cap restrictions. Gleeson is a fine player and for England's sake I hope he returns to form for you. I just wish more of you could have a similar view of Mathers and Higham, who have both done OK so far for us.

TBH tho mate both Mathers and Higham will never be the same quality as Gleeson, which shows what a mistake you lot letting him go was. IMO he was your only WC player, and you let him go.

I agree with what your saying, but you have to understand the crap week in week out we had to put up with from those two players, like at warrington they started of 'OK' for us in their honeymoon period but they went on to just be awful week in week out, Mathers as a fullback is just absoloutely awful, he shys away from catching the high bomb, lets it bounce all over the place, cant make a one on one tackle and is slower than a fat snail.
Higham has one good mark to his game which is his dummy running, but other than that he is the most frustrating player i have ever watched, once he loses it he loses it big style and is running round like a headless chicken, passes to the floor, countless penaltys, knock on's etc. - Why do you think both us AND St Helens let him go? If you want to be up there at the top you cant afford to have players like Higham and Mathers in vital positions.

bob on mate, though its typical wire trying to do everything on the cheap.....look at their WC half back(sic) Lee Briers. He epitomises everthing warrington, and why they have won nothing for years. Briers is a cheap forged WC half back. Some performances he can look the real deal,when he plays out his skin, but he is not good enough to perform like that every week and is just a decent half back who flatters to deceive much the same as the whole dire team.

The fact dire think they will win something when they have got so many distinctly average players like Mathers (average is a complement for that lad), briers, king, bridge, higham, westwood, grix etc. shows how stupid they are. Those players are all mid table, distinctly wakefield level players, yet dire expect to win the league with them

Gleeson was one of our best players, but he didn't want to be here and he wasn't getting any better. He's left and he's not been missed as much as I felt he would have been. I don't think he's been at a world class level for a few seasons now, and considering we've got one of our biggest earners off the cap, and earned £100,000 in the process, it wasn't that bad a deal.

Mathers and Higham probably aren't the same quality as Gleese, but since those two have come in and Gleese has gone, I don't think we're any less of a side than we were with Gleeson, although he'll probably turn it on on Friday and show us what we let go

I think everybody has got what they wanted out of the Gleeson deal.

I'm not being funny I'm not 1 of lee briers biggest fans but he had a bigger influence on the game than micky higham did! They credited higham with the run that led to grixs' try but it was the pass from briers that made it! Briers was a better candidate for mom last night than higham and that takes some saying from a wigan fan

We are a team so bad and playing extremely poor by Wire standards that you are 2 points ahead of us, a team so bad that you haven't beat us at home in a competitive game. a team with such a bad stadium that we own against a team who is supposedly a rugby town with a football stadium.
