TBH, losing on Saturday wouldn't hurt anything like as much as the recent losses (especially 08 and 09) as I don't think there's another team that would have managed to reach the GF without both first choice halves and key strike players.

Can't see Leeds without Burrow/McGuire, Wigan without Tomkins/Leuluai, Hudds without Brough/Brown or Wire without Briers/Monaghan making the same impact. A win would be a huge bonus, a loss and I'm still very proud of the effort that's gone into this season and much to look forward to next year.

There will be just as much desire on either side on Saturday. I honestly think some Wigan fans are very overconfident. It will be a battle on Saturday and Saints will not be easy to beat at Old Trafford for a 4th consecutive occasion. Saints have the stronger pack and in any game of rugby, a strong pack and good kicking game is very tough to beat. It genuinely is on a knife edge for me and is too close to call.

Its not very becoming to make your excuses for defeat, before you have actually lost the game, it just smacks of covering all bases and shows that you believe Wiggin will win, which will be music to our ears.

I don't think you can say he conditions would be an advantage/disadvantage for any side. They're the same for both teams.

Saints do have big game experience, but so do we. Yes, in recent years they've appeared in more finals, but so had Leeds (as Geoff rightly points out).

True, but you can add Wilkin/Soliola/Emmitt to that pack, and a far better kicking game in the shape of Matty Smith.

We've been forced to play conservative rugby recently given the absentees and we've adapted to it very well. It wasn't our cup of tea in previous years and it cost us; this year we are well versed in up the jumper and good kick rugby (much as it pains me to say it as a Saints fan . . . . )

Lets face it Saints have more recent big match Grand Final experience than us.

They know how to lose, whereas we are novices and means we will only know how to win.

What a stupid thread. There is no talk of this at all.

It is a hard game to call and either side could win. St. Helens do have the experience in this environment which could help them against a less experienced side but the flip side of that is many of our youngsters will have no fear and play their hearts out whereas our older, experienced players who have been waiting for years to finally make it to a final after so many semi final defeats will push on and want to win for themselves more than anything.

The same can also be said for Saints but perhaps to a lesser degree. Either way, there is no point arguing about it as the scoreline is 0-0 and still will be until about 8:00PM Saturday evening - I for one cant wait.

From most fans of either club I have seen nothing but excitement mixed with nerves about the game. Most comments have been about hoping the game is as good as the build up for it!

As a Saints fan I am over the moon we have made it as at points in the season I thought we had no hope of getting close to the final, if we win it is just the icing on the cake. If we lose of course I will be disappointed but as long as its a good game I certainly won't be to upset.

Im shocked Saints have got a 4 point start. I would of given them 2 at the most, in fact i reckon this game should be scratch both sides.
