| Kevin Iro. I agree with Dirtbag. Iro was awsome at his peak. Brett Kenny was superb but only played for one season.

I agree with you about Kenny, but I'm going for Deano - only Edwards has a better CC record than him.

After thinking about it, you are taking the p*ss anyway.

| Always liked Trevor Lake. He scored a great try in the 1965 cup final against Hunslet.
I got bitten very badly by the Rugby League bug at that game.
However, for his overall contribution, I am going for Dean Bell.

| Cec Mountford could be considered, first 'overseas' winner of the Lance Todd in 1951, Dean Bell fantastic Wembley record plus a Lance Todd, hard to argue with his selection, but Brett Kenny was a dream of a player, 'The Natural' as he was named, "the best player I ever coached" said John Monie, more proof that we have been 'spoiled' over the years with great players !!!

That wasn't really for him playing career though, more for his coaching efforts at Salford. He neevr won the Challenge Cup with Wigan anyway.

The vote is for players that participated in the Challenge Cup at any stage. They don't need to have won the cup or even played in the final. Lance Todd certainly played in the cup for Wigan and probably played in the 1911 final when we lost to Broughton. He was also part of a very highly rated threequarter line so would have been a very good player. Though I doubt there are many people still around that would have seen him play so I can't see him polling too many votes.

True, but it was still only one game, Deano had 7 on the trot.

Agree tbh.
That performance was something special though. In fact the whole Wigan team performed well (as did Hull to be fair).
My biggest gripe with the Communist Cap is that it deprives the spectator of viewing talented players in the same team.

| If your still undecided on who gets your vote, there was and old bbc series called "up and under" that you can look up,the sheer steal that deano shows is immense.every young player today should me made to watch it to show them what true dedication and attitude is required to play at the top level.

| If it's one game, John Ferguson (everyone talks about Kenny but without Ferguson's pace we'd have lost the game).
If it's over the years, Edwards by a mile - with Dean Bell a Kilometre short .

1. brett kenny, read his book you numpty
2. kevin iro was good buy not that good
3. as for ferguson he was very very quick off the mark and elusivley strong
22 tries in 21 games and won a few games singlehandedly for wigan...
imagine the strength of ellery hanley the acceleration of jason robinson+ a couple of yards faster and the unbelievable will to get over the line
that was ferguson no one could touch him... and a very quiet nice guy off the pitch

Numpty eh...
I wont Read Kenny's book thanks, I believe Shaun Edwards when I heard him speak about Brett Kenny "admitting in the Aussie press that he threw the game....." ...and how it sticks in his throat as you dont do that wearing a Wigan shirt etc etc...
has he (Kenny) since denied it in a book.....
I'm just off to Read John Terry's book I'm sure he says how important his wife and kids are....and he's a massive family man.. and has great mates....
