Its called picking his own players before others. National coach should be independent and not be linked to any club thats the only way you will get players picked on the form they are in.

| Spot on Andy Greg, the issue isn't which country they have switched allegiance from or to,it's the fact they have been selected by their club coach Tony Smith when they are nowhere near good enough to be anywhere near an England squad SMITH OUT!

You missed out "In your opinion" from that sentence.
Ben Harrison has had a tremendous season and is a great prospect who will no doubt benefit from a place in the train on squad.
You've obviously seen a lot of him as you have noticed that the photograph of him on the BBC website isn't him.........oh but then again none of you have noticed have you?

Funnily enough I did notice it was a photo of Tyrone McCarthy but seeing as this is the BBC were talking about it's pretty much to be expected that they'd get it wrong.
And yes it is my opinion on those two players but this is a forum where people are suppose to express opinions.

I think Harrison is going to make an outstanding player. Best young forward prospect at Warrington since Sculthorpe in my opinion!

If Chris Bridge plays for England. I wont watch any international RL again until Smith is sacked.
The fact Wire now have 7 in the train on squad is pathetic and embarrasing.

| 1 or 2 players from all other clubs, how many from Warrington?! I know Tony Smith has a big nose but he really should look beyond the end of it at some point.

| I agree, what the hell is Smith doing giving other players a chance? we should stick to the tried, tested and failed players like Pryce, Gardner, Wilkin, Burrow, O'Loughlin and Sinfield.

He cant yet as they are still in the comp.
He can only pick players who are not involved in the playoffs.
Perhaps thats why so many warrington players

I am very surprised at the inclusion of Bridge
I do think Harrison is worthy of a train on squad place.
The other 5 all have previous representitive honours under Tony Smith before he or they had any connections with Warrington so no major surprise really?
Should Wigan get beat on Saturday I'm sure that next week we'll be arguing with you that the squad has been added to with what we consider to be over rated Wigan players!!

| Chris Bridge! That would be comedy classic watching him turn out against the Aussies.
As for Harrison, i do rate him but he's not ready yet. The experience may well do him good!

I fully agree with you, he is a great prospect. He deserves his call-up IMO.
But Chris Bridge? He should be nowhere near that squad. IMO
[size=59Put IMO in there so you can't complain [/size

Could not agree more Im sure we will get all the same old cries of how the southern based media do not take Rugby league seriously. The fact is though why should they? how can they allow 2 lads who chose to play for Ireland now switch to England it would never happen in any other sport. The RFL are a joke and until there is major changes the game will never be taken seriously.

Nail on the head. I remember as a student in Leeds back in 1990 returning from the Old Trafford test (the one in which Meninga scored in the last minute following a Ricky Stuart break from his own half) and being inundated with requests for help in getting tickets for the last game at Elland Road. Most of these requests came from people who knew nothing about the game but wanted to be part of an ashes decider. Bear in mind this was long before the time of Sky sports, the internet or the extent of media coverage we see these days.
Since then we have seen international rugby league systematically dismantled to the point that it is now a lauging stock. Still, if iit means a couple of extra Sky games between the likes of Ireland and Scotland I suppose that's OK.
The sooner we reintroduce a three game Ashes series the better. We need to get back to showing the highest possible product and the game will sell itself.

It wasn't the RFL who granted them permission to switch. It was the international federation.
Apart from that I agree with you.

| Can anybody ripping Chris Bridge name any better right side centres for England, behind Gleeson?
This for me is the reason he is in. The competition is hardly tough. Behind Gleeson, I can't think of any.
BTW, compare Gleeson's stats from last year and Bridg's from this year, and they are very similar. Only Senior has more assists than Bridge from the centre this year.
