Leuluai was one of few Wigan players to have a good game to be honest, it's not that big for a prop to knock over a scrum half surely? His hit on Fielden was class though, Stu should have been dropped long ago for his own good.

I'm happy for Mathers. I've said it many times- the lad never gave anything less then 100% for Wigan but his confidence was shot to bits and we didn't have either a coach good enough to get the best out of him or a set of supporters willing to give him enough patience.

He seems a good lad and after his injuries of the past i'm made up for him that he'll be stepping out at Wembley.

When he was at Leeds he never gave less than 100%. He's that kind of player. I'm glad he's back with a coach who knows how to get the best out of players.

Totally agree with you there pal. I was embarrassed by some of our fans flicking the V's at Mathers when he looked up to the West Stand, totally unneccessary.

Did anyone feel slightly sorry for Briers after watching his interview after the game? Yes he can be a pr!ck at times, but its nice to know their's a different side to the player you see on the field.

Didn't feel sorry for Briers but I was absolutely made up for him expelled some deamons re missing out with Saints for a final appearence and got to play on his brothers birthday you could just see what it meant to him.

As I wire fan I was more pleased for Briers than anyone on Saturday, finally he gets to play on a big stage that he probably deserves to have played on more than once.

For your information the game lasts 80 mins and even at half time we were not going. But hey guess what? We are now

I was sat low down in the West Stand and some of the abuse handed out to Mathers was embarrasing.

Fair do's trying to put an opposition player off his game but when some are should every swear word under the sun at him i think it went too far.

Me too. It felt very traiterous, but for all the whinging, moaning, bi tching, bullying that he took from Wigan fans (and I don't mean the rational ones criticising a poor performance) I felt for that moment, Good on ya lad!

Mathers had the last laugh on those boo boys didnt he.....

ive spoken to Lee Briers a few times and he has always been pleasant to talk to....

And me. I'm pleased for the guy - he's had a pretty torrid time of it and fair play to him, his move to Warrington has really paid off. The vitriol displayed by sections of our own support on Saturday was truly embarrassing.

That said, I'll probably still be a Giant for the day on the 29th...

not everyone on these message boards is anti everything BUT wigan...some of us can see beyond our own team and can appreciate others for their efforts

I always find the fans forums really good, although quite confusing.

I have been to a few where the likes of Sean long has been on the panel. Now I can't stand Sean, a bit like Briers, he has a lot of haters, but after speaking to him, and hearing him speak publicly at these events, you realise what nice blokes they actually are.

It becomes confusing because after the events, you actually find yourself liking them during subsequent games!

For all the bad things said about him, Longy is actually a decent bloke.
