Ratchford is no where near good enough and even as recently as last season there were plenty of times when he couldnt even get in the Salford team. We also have better young players than him in every position that he plays and if he wasnt from Wigan then people wouldnt even be discussing him. He would be a very poor signing in my opinion.

I heard cronulla and Gold Coast have been looking at him.

Don't know why many fans are saying he would be a bad signing IMO he has bags of potential would be a very good signing if IL where too pull it off.

At a club like Wigan, I think Ratchford would have the correct set-up and coaching to enable him to fulfill his potential. The thing that may stop it from happening though is if Wire show interest he would probably go there. King, Johns, Langer, Myler, Reardon and Morley are a few of the names who chose Wire over Wigan and many others. Probably due to being offered more dollar. I'd play the talented Joe Mellor instead. I'd let TL go as well, from the limited clips I've seen, Logan Tomkins looks a Roby clone.

i really dont rate him, i cant see what people rave about, seems to be very one dimensional, and if he was as good as some people make out then he would be the stand out player in the salford side, and i really dont think he is,

I think Ratchford would be a good signing. He's only 22 and is a Wigan lad with definite talent. I'm not sure where he fits into the team though looking at our current squad, although I do know that there will be changes for next year looking at the number of players out of contract

Not so much in terms of takent Paul. But i think it let's Wigan strengthen a bit more across the board with the cap money that would be freed up.

In this weeks Observer it states that contrary to rumours Salford's Stefan =#FF0000Marsh will not be joining Wigan. Now ignoring the obvious and frequent typo in the press this seems to put an end to this one.

That article says nothing about him deciding against a move to Wigan or Wire and I think the piece in the observer says it's Wigan that don't want him and not the other way round so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd be happy with the signing but agree with the person who said previously I won't lose any sleep if we don't get him.

People on here want to see local talent, born and bred Wiganers in the team, and Ratchford falls into that category. Madge moved Joel into the centres, and Sam to FB, he's getting more out of Preckie and Mossop, he's got Finch improving, so who can say Ratchford won't improve or find a position where he can excel and fit into the squad? He's got experience at 6 and in the centres, has good hands, tackles above his weight, and also has a kicking game.
