The test will have been done but the results take time to come through. About a week is what I have seen posted elsewhere.

| Quote ="Grego"I doubt that there will be any shortage of teams willing to offer him a nice large contract when his ban is up. Everyone knows that he can be a gamebreaker on the pitch and it is up to the people in charge at wigan whether they want to sign him up again or not bearing in mind that this is one guy that will be able to come back and make you regret letting him go. We have to make these decisions now though as how the club approach this issue now will determine what he decides to do in 2 years time. Personally i would like to think the club would try to help him through this time and then try to reintroduce back into the game if all has gone well once his time has been served.'"
The club stood by Jon Clarke in the sense they didn't cut him off dead but then when he got back into the game he was IIRC helped to find another club.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the same happen again especially if the back row forwards we have in two years are playing well.
I am sure the club have no wish to do anything that would make Hock's situation any worse than it is but at the same time they have to consider what will be best for the team two years down the track.
Provided he looks after himself I am sure other clubs would come in for him but if Wigan decided to let him go I would not question that decision.
I don't think the club should say now that he has a job back in the side after his ban is up but should say its a possibility and dependant on a lot of things such as how Hock behaves in the next two years, how he look after himself and what the requirements of the side are.
Any sniff of him reverting to the bad behaviour often rumoured on various forums and they should not re-sign him. If he goes elsewhere as a result then it ought to be good luck but no thanks.

You don't know anything about his personal life or family circs though, do you, which could well be extenuating factors.
Perhaps we ought to just leave it to the RFL to pass judgement.

Thats pretty much what i'm getting at dave. The guy has made a mistake and been caught red handed so should take his punishment but i wouldn't want us to cut all ties at the moment because of what he has done as i would hope we could help him to get himself sorted out and get his career back on track when the time comes. Speaking from a purely selfish point of view, i don't really want such a talented guy to wander away and start playing for some other club. Of course all of this would depend on what Hock does in his time off and what we are looking like as a team when he is available again.

Its an opinion like most of the stuff on here. But I would actually agree with it. I think that there are many from each club that could be named and shamed. There might even be someone named from a lower division club this week.....

| I thought the results of his 'B' sample where due on 30th June? If this is the case why has his punishment not been publicised or the results issued?

The second test was on 30th June, the results available about a week later. Do keep up this has been mentioned numerous times already.

My understanding is that both samples are taken at the same time? One is tested and the other sample stored. If the test is positive or inconclusive on the first sample the second sample is then tested? The results of the second sample where then due on the 30th June.
It would not make sense to take a sample on the 5th June, it then comes back positive and you have your second sample 25 days later, if this is the case then I think you can virtually guarentee that the second sample will be negative.

This is theUK Sports drugs policy:
When called for a drugs test the athlete is entitled to have a representative (such as their coach or team doctor) present to verify that the testing occurred in accordance to guidelines. A sample is provided (in view of an official of the same gender) and split into two bottles and sealed by the athlete. A code number will be attached to the bottle and recorded on the relevant paperwork to ensure the correct result is given to the athlete whilst retaining their anonymity.
Following the sampling procedure the athlete must complete a medical declaration which states all medicines, drugs and substances taken over the last week. It is important that the athlete records everything, from over-the-counter medicines, to supplements and prescribed drugs. If any of these substances are on the prohibited list the athlete must hold a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). The competitor, representative and official all check the form before the official and athlete sign it and both parties are given a copy.
The samples are then sent to a registered laboratory (if there is not one on site) where sample A is tested using gas chromatography (which uses separation techniques to divide the contents of the sample) and mass spectrometry (which provides the exact molecular specification of the compounds). If a positive result is found with sample A, the athlete is notified before sample B is also tested. The athlete or their representative is entitled to be present at the unsealing and testing of the second sample. If this too is positive, the relevant sporting organisations are notified whose responsibility it is to decide what penalties or bans are to be imposed'.
Note the bit in bold. Before the second sample is tested the athlete is notified so this is only opened and tested after the notification. The official press release says Wigan were notified on 22nd June.
My understanind is that the 2nd sample was opened and tested on 30th June, results to follow.
