The Lockyer rumours seem to have died a death.

Just watching him now against Wests and it had me thinking about the possibility of a deal for him. He hasn't re-signed with the Bronco's as of yet and will surely be making a call on his future within the next month or so.

With Lenagan being over there at the minute it makes you wonder!

I think Lockyer's a pipe-dream, to be honest. I was talking about a player of that ilk rather than actually making a bid for Lockyer.

When you consider the fuss made when Wire signed Andrew Johns on a three-match deal, imagine what would happen if Wigan were to sign Lockyer for two years. We'd be the talking-point of the game again.

Can't see it though. Even at 31, he'd want a fortune.

I agree though Lockyer will be set for life if he sees his career out with the Bronco's with off field opportunities coming his way with the club when he does finally retire.

That's a good point actually.

We laugh at the Aussie press for worrying that we're going to plunder their star players, and say that they haven't a clue about the financial state of the British game. But the reality is that we ourselves are now discussing players who surely will never come to SL. Mason, Lockyer, Thurstan, Poore etc - have all been put forward as serious possibilities in recent weeks. Are we completely deluding ourselves or is it just fun to speculate on such things?

It's a mixture of both depandant on who the person is reading the rumours.

The only out and out top line Australian international thats come over here in the past god knows how long is Matt King and he's made it obvious whilst he's been here that it was pure greed that enticed him in the first place.

The likes of Orford, O'Meely, Finch and co are realistic possibilities because they aren't playing rep rugby anymore.

Its always fun to think your club is talking to this calibre of player.Some get disappointed when reality hits home but i class it as nothing more as fun and wishes

Seen in the newspaper this morning at work that we are checking out Willie Mason as a possible signing.

Personally I think Mason would be a bad idea as he would pick and choose when he wanted to play, bad and lazy attitude, he would be down king st evry night thinking he is tommy concrete and that would pi55 the hard working players off and cause a split or clique in the team and we don't want that so no thanks I don't want Willy regardless of how good he can be.

Jeez can you imagine anybody trying to take him on

Saints are in after Dobbbo according to rumours on their board.

I’d be furious if IL let a player of his quality slip through the net and go to Saints next season! It may not be true but IL has to at least make an enquiry imo to check the situation out.

Just Saints style to replace Long with a quality young 7 who imo will be just as good as what Long has been.

No doubt he’ll go to Saints and we’ll get Fein!

Why lose Phelps he has been superb at full back.

Sorry, but why do you think Dobbo would even leave KR, they are quite succesfull at the moment, he might want to stay to try and win some silverware with them, besides, he isn't really as good as what many think he is
