I'm not questioning Wanes last 10 years. I don't think anyone on this thread has ? I'm just repeating what he's said this week about the way he coaches his team.

And yes, I agree with you about the better team on the night losing. But that's hardly a surprise against a team without a recognised halfback on the pitch for 78 minutes of the game.

While your chomping on those sour grapes re-direct the bitterness to Wane & Flower. They are the reason Wigan lost.

yet with 2 quality half backs you could only muster one try, despite playing "amazing", i would be disappointed had my team, despite being a man short could only create one try despite having 2 quality half backs compared to their ageing full back/2nd rower combination.

playing "amazing" does not win you trophies, scoring tries does, and the team with no half backs or creative players scored more than your lot.

Too early for mine. He's got the size and pace we need in players to have any chance whatsoever against the Aussies but he's been out of the game for 3 seasons and hasn't even had a proper RL pre season. That said, he's a quality player and I guess the forthcoming series will determine whether it's the right decision or not. Obviously McNamara thinks he's worth the gamble. Personally I would have thought there were better options given the timing.

For all the people talking about 'Thug rugby' etc. please do us all a favour and go get a life. What Flower did was unacceptable. What Westwood did in last seasons final was unacceptable. What Sinfield did in headbutting Dorn was unacceptable. I could go on, not only from this season or last, but throughout rugby league history and across all clubs. Could someone please go through the other16 players who took the field yesterday and point out the 'thugs' or indeed an further 'thuggish behaviour' from the rest of the match. You paid a massive fee for Bateman people suggesting he was the next Jamie Peacock etc... his done nothing but disappoint me every time ive seen him play and last night was no different. Luke Thompson for example totally outplayed the lad.

As for Joel Tomkins his done absolutely nothing since his return to Rugby League. Absolutely shocking decision from Mcnamara to include him in the England squad. I can only guess his there to keep Sam happy.

So less of the "best team lost" cobblers and playing the "if" game that some of you are indulging yourselves in if you please.

Saints overcame frightening odds to win an unbelievable and incredibly unlikely backs-to-the-wall victory no matter what kind of gloss or amelioration you want to put on it. We suffered from infinitely way more adversity both before and during the game than you did. We were bitty and scrappy and lacked organisation and composure during the game but should have been a whole lot worse off under the circumstances. And we still won anyway.

congratulations to saints, wigin and wane got what you deserved feck all, had a quick read on this site saturday night just after the game, dear oh dear 14 vs 12, the rfl got the result they wanted, the refs bent etc your club is detested throughout the RL world and you finish the season potless and your reputation is lower than a rattlesnakes belly

Didnt a judge once say of two Leeds players "Each of you brought disgrace on the game of rugby league, on your clubs and most of all on yourselves" ... I guess our reputation is about as low as that ...

Glad we've got that sorted. As it goes I think we'd have mullered you with a man advantage no matter who the personel. Haven't you lot been telling us all season that it doesn't seem to matter who wears the jerseys as our systems ensure we play exactly the same way? Without the three players you mentioned we'd have had Bateman to start and probably Scott Taylor on the bench and probably Hampshire to replace Bowen (many would say that was an improvement anyway!) By the way, just to keep the analogy even, McIlorum would have been playing too. So that's Taylor, Hamphire, McIlorum and 1 other player (Goulding or another forward) in and O'loughlin, Bowen and Smith out. With a man advantage for practically the full game that side would have caned you!

If seeing your pack getting smashed to bits by 2 19 year olds is "playing amazing" then yep, you're right.
