Hardly, the team finishing 1st has won 7 out of 12 GFs.

The top 8 system makes it easier than ever to win the GF from 3rd or 4th.
under the top 6 system, i would give Leeds no chance of winning it, but i think the might under the top 8.

If you finished 4th in the top 6, you had to win 1 home AND 1 away game just to get a semi final slot which was always away.

If you finish 4th in the top 8, win 1 away game, you get a week off and then a home semi final. JOKE.

Yet there you are, busting your asses and getting all exited about top spot. Don't get me wrong it's a good acheivment and gives a great chance of grand final, but 2nd is just as good and if you've been inconsistent 3rd and 4th aren't too shabby either.

It's actually 6/6. Saints finished top in 2002 and I had them down as second.

In the past 3 years we've been 2 victories away from being Champions, yet we all knew we were nowhere near being the best team in the comp.
