Joel did a couple of daft things last night, but no worse than anything Warrington did back. He could just do with playing a little smarter (more with his head than his heart I'd suggest) but I wouldn't go so far as to say I'd want to entirely remove the aggressive part of his game.

He has been outstanding this season, no Wigan fan would swap him for any back rower in the Warrington squad, and I'm sure he's not going to turn into a dirty player with a bad rep.

Dont talk daft. Joel Tomkins is far superior to both of them in attack and just as good if not better in defence.

Go have a look at the stats on the superleague website and compare the 3, Joel es all over them.

Best second rower in the comp bar none. And just because he has a little bit of an off night doesn't change that.

Absolute joke. I recorded the match and I've just watched the first half. I've seen myler's try when tomkins dives on him and then pats him on the chest as if to say good try. Myler gets to his feet and no Warrington players react to tomkins. The referee does nothing either. I had to check bilko's match report to see if myler scored another try as I couldn't see anything in what tomkins did. A massive over reaction from wire fans on this 'incident'.

Wasn't nasty but was late, i.e like a flop. It should have been an 8 point try according to the laws.

Tomkins is a terrific back rower. Unfortunately on Friday he seemed more intent on proving how tough he was than proving what a top player he was, which manifested in a few cheap digs.

He's only young though and the more big games he plays in, the more his focus will be on doing what he does best.

I think tomkins is a decent player with a bright future.. However both Anderson and westwood played better than him on fri night.

Joel is squeaky clean compared to the lot you have had over the years the Les Boyd era springs to mind and we all know who the rest are,

Nothing wrong with being a bit dirty... After all it's not a tickling contest... Tomkins problem is he gives away loads of stupid penaltys.... But I'm sure that will be coached out of him.

Having watched the game again I am concerned about Joels petulance (stupidity). However the two most deliberate acts of foul and dangerous play were Morleys challenges on the kicker, both times with his feet (one on Sam and one on Tommy)

I will be surprised if it's not picked up in the match commissionaires report, and he at least gets a warning for it. They were dangerous.

Come on Brian you don't really believe the RFL will pick up on Wire?
Leeds and Warrington are protected species.
Both those clubs can dish out what they like and the RFL won't go near them.

Morley should have been binned for the first attack (he wouldn't have had to chance to make the second); automatic sin bin for a late hit on a kicker as per the rules. Silverwood chose to ignore both and as such he should be looking at a game or two ban.

I dont think Joel's petulance started until after Wire had taken out the kicker and done a few late and high hits and got away with them. After that i think he just thought fook this im gonna start doing it too. Thats the problem when the ref lets one team get away with murder.

He dove and landed on his head, after he'd put the ball down uncontested, can you honestly say that A; he had cause to dive on top of him like that or B; he was in any way attempting to tackle or prevent myler putting the ball down or hold him, he didn't he just launched himself on him.
