| Quote ="NickyKiss"I was a big fan of Kevin Brown during his first stint at the club and was sad to see how it all ended up for him here because I think he deserved better. He's a Wigan fan and he always gave his all but his confidence was shot to bits.
As for him coming back it all depends really. If he came in and Deacon went onto the coaching staff then imo we'd be in a stonger position because Deacon doesn't look like his body is upto it anymore. I probably would want more of an organiser to come in as a like for like replacment for Deacon but if Maguire and Wane want Brown then thats fine with me. I see good signs in both Sam Tomkins game and Tommy Leuluai's game at the moment which suggest they are really developing their organising games and both have time on their sides to continue that.
A partnership made up from Sam, Leuluai or Brown in any order would be fine by me and all 3 could be at this club for a very long time which gives us stability.'"
Amen to that.

While I agree with pretty much everything you said there, I'm just wondering where you think all three fit into the current team should thery all be fit at once. Like I said previously if I was Brown I'd only be looking to leave Huddersfield for a guaranteed starting berth to further my chances of getting picked for England, which I don't think he'd get at Wigan. Not at half back anyway

| Kevin Brown is a fantastically talented player albeit a bit 'maverick and inconsistent' at times , but i'm sure with the right mentorship from someone like deacon he could become a great player for Wigan

A combo made up from any of the 3 would be superb imo but we could have room for all 3 starting with options like Leuluai at 9, Sam at 1 and Brown at centre.
I think the most likely option would be for Brown to start at 6, Sam at 7 and Leuluai either at 9 or hooking from the bench but it would be nice to have options.
I doubt this signing is a goer mind.

That thread seems largely to be a response to this thread, which is nearly all speculation. League Express are notorious guessers when it comes to this sort of thing.
I wouldn't worry about your so-called salary cap breach, either. That piece of info, I note, comes from a guy with 13 posts to his name. The cap is live, so, if signing Brough had put your lot over the cap, it wouldn't have been allowed.

| Lets be honest after the Melbourne debacle the salary cap speculation/horse will be rife. Theres not much point any of us speculating about the cap because we dont know the facts. Huddersfield need to stop their boat rocking quickly before it sinks, it seems its one blow after another for them.

I know we're not really supposed to talk about this, but I can't help thinking if the main problem is the ongoing investigation of so many Hudds players for an alleged criminal offence.
No professional sports team could maintain its levels of intensity with that kind of distraction in the background.

Without a doubt that will be affecting them. Look at Steven Gerrard this season over in the footy, hes been e by his standards and a lot of it is down to off the field shenanigans.

Of course it will have affected them, and if it is going to trial, it will continue to affect them.

That's very good news for them, and for the game.
We saw how Feka's form deteriorated when he was facing a possible prison sentence.

Good news allround, im always skeptical of these claims, but its even better to see that no names where officially released as that kind of thing still follows you around even if you have done nothing wrong!

| I'm not sure that I do.
Whilst he could have been given longer, I still believe that he bought in to his own hype at the time (mainly propagated by Stevo and "the watch" incident.
There's no doubt that he's improved as a player since leaving Wigan, but that could simply be down to growing up and realising that maybe he wasn't quite as good as he thought he was.
I'm still not convinced that we need him, nor that he would be anything other than a utility player if we did bring him back.
As I've said before though - I've not seen any reason to doubt the new management, so whatever they decide, I'm sure it will work out in the end.

| Dave Parker said on the radio last night that Brown's agent was touting him around here and in the NRL. He thought the player may be more interested in going with Nathan Brown to an NRL club.

I'd believe this if anyone other than Dave Parker had said it. During his Rugby Leaguer days, I never knew any columnist put pen to as many rumours that turned out to be nonsense.

| Brown has been after a move to NRL for some time now, I guess alot depends on how keen Nathan Brown is on taking him with him to Cronulla. Should that not come about, I still feel he will not be at the Galpharm next season and it would seem quite likely that he would return to Wigan, a club which along with Stephen Wild he probably feels he has unfinished business at. The main difference being that it would appear that unfortunately Wildy's career is reaching it's conclusion whereas Brown's is going from strength to strength. As he is in contract for a further three years a deal involving a small fee and Goulding coming the other way should see that it happens, I would be delighted to see Goulding in the Claret and Gold....have been a fan for years.

Don't blame you he has been playing really well for us and still can't fathom out why he didn't get the nod last Saturday. KP has scored a few tries recently but doesn't offer what Goulding does for my money.
Always felt sorry about Kevin Brown leaving and he did get some stick off some on here but think that was as much to do with him being a gangly kid with a long neck at the time and a lot of un-necessary and personal remarks were made that clearly didn't do a lot for his confidence - you only need to read his bit in the book Match of My Life to know this. Obviously he has filled out now and looks more the finished product than he did and I for one would be happy to see him back at Wigan
