But were not selling him were just letting him go.We will get no money for him just his salary which isn't the biggest in the team.

By all means if were bringing in a good player to replace him then ok..But it will be pryce or Goulding taking over and that IMO will make us weaker

Maybe the plan is to let Goulding step up and also let Bailey go and strengthen other areas.

If IL lets Carmont leave then he is an idiot. Simple as.

It depends if him and the new coaches have a reason for doing it. If he is not part of the plans then he has to go. They might think it will be more beneficial to the club to get a prop in instead which will give Goulding and Thornley chances and Pryce as well I guess

How can you look at so simplistically.

We have absolutely no idea of the financial terms he's looking for, for all we know he could be asking for a fair wedge for 2 years. It's impossible to say somebody is an idiot for not signing him when we don't have the facts.

Depends how much he gets paid for that year? It would be great to see him playing still but giving him time to rest for Thornley and a few others to get a chance.

How many more chances does Goulding need, he's had plenty of shots to prove himself but always comes off as being a selfish player, trade hime to Wakey or somewhere, he is not Wigan standard

I'd be inclined to agree about Goulding.

I can't decide about Carmont and what we should do with him.

Part of me looks at other players in the league and says yes we should give him the two years as he's still heads and shoulders above the other centres out there.

It's a tough call to make but i still think i'd be inclined to offer him a new 2 year deal.

Maybe pay as you play on the 2nd year?

It's a tough decision. I'm still very curious about Lote's availability as well.

If MM think he's worth it IL would give him a 2 year deal i have no doubts about that so all this penny pinching cr@p is nonsense as well.

If Carmont was English he would be a shoe in for the national team. I'd give him two years (or spend the next two seasons regretting it as he tears us up)

You don't buy a rugby league club that isn't viable as a buisness to make money. Everyone slates Whelan for buying over the hill, over rated aussies all the time, and some people slate IL for not doing that. Fact is we CANT get an inglis, a folou or anyone else in their prime. Not with the cap. No super league team is signing big name aussies.

I would definatly give George the 2 year deal as long as there are some release clauses, like a game time deal or something along those lines. I can't see us getting a centre in with the same class as Carmont for the same money.

I don't think he has a big name signing up for 2011 either, I think he has a couple of our youth players in mind. Thornley will be ready for a few games by then no doubt. The jury is still out on Goulding for me, he doesn't seem good enough, but maybe we haven't seen the best of him. We will see.

IMO we should offer Carmont a one year deal with the option of a second if he playes X amount of games. This could ease any concerns about him being injury prone.

but thats apparently what the club are offering, but he wants a straight 2 year deal because he wants the security of still having a job this time next year. He can get a 2 year deal at other clubs in super league so thats why he's wanting one from us.

He did the same thing either last year or the previous year and wanted a better or a new contract from us or he was going to union.

With a new coach coming in then hed better accept the 1 year thats on offer or why if hes been offered a contract from Saints is he still in consultation with us.

IL call his bluff.

Wigan at their pomp got rid of world class players once they got to 30. We need to get this culture back in the club. Yes GC has been good but we have young players coming through and should not offer GC a 2 year deal.
