| Quote ="MadDogg"Gildart said in the sponsors lounge he'll be out for another couple of weeks.
Will likely be Marshall, Isa, Gelling and Davies. Unusual looking backline but always good to see youth players get a chance. Hope Bateman is back to take Isa's place. Would give Bretherton a go in place of Sutton.'"
Hope that they play Bateman at left centre.

Sounds like a season ender for Budgie.'"
They were all innocent I think. And mainly down to bad luck.
Burgess' injury is on the Sky Sports highlights, the Leigh player swipes his leg with his but pretty innocuous.
I think Tierney's was done when he kicked the ball inside to set up the first try(?).
Sutton was injured hitting their winger who was trying to catch a bomb.

| I wouldn't be surprised to see Hansen get charged for a shoulder charge on FPN as well but it may go down as a clash of heads...

Least disprution comes from playing the kids on the wing, Gelling and Bateman two good defensive centres. Still pace in the side.
Just expect to be peppered with high kicks from brown and Patton but we'll have to deal with them!
Big chance for Wigan to go 8 points clear of Wire so early in the comp, means little chance we'll be going to HJ in a playoff game.

Just announced a 1 month loan to Whitehaven, not sure if there's a recall clause.

| Wish FM mentioned that Burgess didn't have a brace on his leg but I saw pictures of him sat in the changing room after the game with a big black knee brace on. It was over the top of black trousers so I'm guessing Wish FM missed it.
Fingers crossed it's a case of missing a few games rather then a season job.

| Just seen budgie dragging his leg around, up at middlebrook. Very big brace on it. Doesn't look good at all. Clearly in pain

IIRC you are unable to recall a loaned out player during the first month. That is probably why clubs use DR more than loans when sending players out.

Quote Wigan Warriors youngster Jack Higginson has joined Kingstone Press League One side Workington Town on loan.
Higginson, 19, made three appearances for the Warriors First Team in 2016 scoring one try and will join Macauley Davies at the Cumbria Club, initially for one month, with Kyle Shelford re-joining Wigan.
Head of Youth, Matty Peet, commented:
“Jack is one of a number of good young players at the Club who needs to be playing regularly at a good level to help aid his development.
“He will continue to train with the Wigan First Team as well as with the Workington squad as required. We¹re thankful to Workington for working with us again and wish them and Jack well.”'"

| An update is in the WEP-
Tierney-Doesn't need surgery but is looking at 6 weeks on the sidelines.
Sutton-Is likely to be out for a month.
Burgess-They don't think it's a long term injury but could need surgery and early indication is about 6 weeks out. He does need another scan though to see the full extent of the injury (so I presume that could change).
The evening post seems to indicate Gildart may be OK for Thursday and they mention Bateman may be OK (but don't seem to know too much).

Seems Waney is inclined to use Davies rather than Forsythe.

| Happy with either Davies or Forsyth but would like be to get Gildart or Bateman back so we have two good centres alongside the two young wingers
The squad can cope with the other injuries without too many problems.

I wouldn't worry about Higgy going out on loan at the moment he would be behind Forsyth and Tom Davies in the pecking order anyway.

I think the result of the disciplinary is fair - it looked fairly innocuous at the time. Careless & poor technique sums it up I think. It is a contact sport, after all.

I thought it should have been a higher grade, he appeared to twist Burgess's leg after the tackle was completed, but that was from my initial viewing at the game.

He didn't
Burgess was doing well and dominating the tackle and had made 3/4 metres after initial contact
Acton used his leg to block budgies and bring him down.
The type of thing you see 2/3 times every game.
Budgie was unlucky in that the 2 other tacklers weight seemed to being him down 1 way whilst actons leg action stopped his leg from following.

| There's too many calls for bans nowadays simply because an injury was picked up in a tackle. It's a contact sport and injuries will happen.
I've still never got over the fuss after the 2013 GF in regards to Hansens tackle on Ratchford. He simply went to complete the tackle and Ratchford fell awkwardly yet you'd think he'd tried to finish his career.
I understand Rogues claiming it though because we've faced a constant stream of claims of foul play for similar incidents over the past 7 years.

I don't think so. It's Sika Manu who makes the tackle and Clubb has his back to him, Watts joins the tackle as well so that's quite a bit of meat on top of you and Clubby just seems to fall awkwardly on his neck. Doesn't look like a "crusher" tackle which is what Waney was saying I think.
You can judge for yourself here anyway - [urlhttps://youtu.be/IXmho_EXRc0[/url
It's at about the 1:20 mark.
