I cant see Wane and Bitcon letting this turn into a holiday. im sure it will be hard work and a good trip for the coaches and team to bond and come together. Pity we couldnt of had a pre season friendly over there so we could go on a P^SS up and a holiday

A change may well be needed though as doing the same pre-season each year would probably start to lose it's benefit. The 'training' aspect is important but it's not always rugby related, it seems to be more about getting the group together and getting them doing some hard work after the short break.

Given that a lot of players are interested in NFL and UFC it seems likely that the training camp will give them something they'll enjoy. At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with the players enjoying themselves as long as they are putting the work in when training. It should be beneficial as long as the training they do is still rigorous enough to prevent the players from taking things lightly.

I don't see why people are bothered where they go for pre season. So long as its tough and challenging both mentally and physically and relevant, who actually gives a damn?

Not a bad idea if I'm honest. Most players hate pre-season training in the rain/mud etc so it makes sense to have a nice week abroad. It won't be that nice though - Wane is a tough taskmaster and he won't be treating it as a holiday

They could have a few days on the lash and get a beasting for the rest of the week for all i care. Team bonding is just as important as doing grid sprints.

There will be plenty of time to run them ragged during the Christmas period and beyond.

Its only the jealous types that get there knickers in a twist because these professional sportsman get to go abroad. As we all know because you buy a season ticket you get to control every aspect of their lives.

having a season ticket or supporting your club does not give the the right to control their lives,but it should give you the right to know which direction the club is going in.ie not naming the coach sooner when it was the worst kept secret in rl,oh have we made any signings yet.

If it was the worst kept secret in RL, then you would have known that Wane was coach, so why did it matter when it was announced? If signings can't be announced for one reason or another then they can't be announced, should Lenegan announce "I've signed A.Player, or at least I think I have, I hope I have, I'll get back to you on that one"?!

It was mark bitcon who set the cold weather marine training so no doubt in my mind it will be him setting this up. don't know what the problem is

I dont see what the issue is here? Surely training in blistering heat is much harder than the cold? Teams often do high altitude training in other sports for pre season etc.

There is facilities in Florida designed for high quality athletes with training programmes etc. The sports science in the USA is also the best around so maybe they have got something decent lined up over there? From what ive heard about Wane and Bitcon the lads will be dreading it even if they go to disneyland

Mid-December seems a bit early to me. One of the main benefits of warm weather training is it allows you to do ball work at a time not conductive to it in England.

Mid-December is too early in pre-season for ball work.

I don't watch it, it's a it too much for me but i've no issue with 2 consenting adults wanting to fight, in fact i'd bring it in to town centres at the weekend, the police catch 2 people fighting throw them in a cage instead of wasting time arresting them, have a ref and a medic and free up police time money and effort on them

I don't really have one, to be honest. Well, not one that differs from any other kind of dancing.

But for argument's sake, prancing around looking a bit silly is probably better than inflicting violence with the specific aim of doing people intentional physical harm, whilst people cheer.

Maybe Wane wants to change the pre season to set his own mark on the training methods .. plus he wants to get his wife a nice Christmas present?
