A huge retention that. I know Ellis had a brain fade today but if him and Havard are here for the next few years, we’ll be better for it. Two big, athletic bodies, we can hopefully build around.

Great news re-Havard my mom today so much class from a young fella.

I felt he was very Fieldenesc today.

At 22 and with no doubt a few options this is a fantastic coup for the club.

His physique is so similar to Fielden. It’s very rare you get a prop who is not just big but an absolute athlete. The lad looks like he could play all day.

I was going to start a Havard thread anyway even before the new deal.

One of the best prop forward performances for Wigan I can remember. The amount of minutes he played especially after 5 weeks out.

He matched and surpassed Vaughan easily.

I’d mentioned we’d really missed him as he’d be papering over the cracks but today really proved that.

Absolutely buzzing to have him at Wigan for the next 4 years and hopefully beyond.

And get him the right support and he and us will kick on. Still pretty gutting that Cooper is out for the season because him, Havard, Ellis and Byrne is a fine 4 prop rotation. We need to make sure we have a stronger 4/5 prop rotation going in to 2023. Hopefully Cooper will get back from the injury but we can’t rely on that and need to make sure we recruit well in that area.

Shame we won’t get the stats on the SL website for this game. He’ll be off the charts.

Add one more really good prop to Havard, Byrne, Ellis and Cooper(if he gets fit ideally) with Hill coming through I think we will be fine. Especially with Smithies and Walters(if we have signed him I think it will be for second row mainly) can also cover that middle if needed. I think it showed how much we missed Havard today he was fantastic, I said to my daughter at the game it's not Bevan or Jai eye-catching stuff that Ethan does but it's his graft that allows others to shine Byrne played miles better today by his side same with Smithnies. MoM for me today and topped off by the news of the new contract. O' Neil was also very good .... well they all was!

I do think that the very least he deserves is that we all make a big effort to spell his name right!

We have all been fixating on new props for next year but this retention is probably more important than any new face we could have brought in. He's 22 years old and is already among the best in the league! I'm not even sure it would have been possible to sign anyone else of his quality and age. Great work all round. Couldn't be more pleased.

179 meters and 37 tackles yesterday, phenomenal. The meters star is even better when you think it wasn’t skewed by a huge carry or two, just consistently ate up the meters with his carries

He does big minutes and does not shy away from getting through work.

Id love to know his carries yesterday as well. His average gain must have been decent because from memory he was making good meters each run and some great post contact ones with good leg drives.

We have got a genuine star on our hands, not the biggest prop but he runs well above his weight. I've noted the Fielden comparison for a while now, once you see it you can't unsee it. Similar build and running style, dominates the collision and even carries the ball in both hands running it in like SF did!

Runs it in like Ian Roberts for mine. Doesn't seem to need to hit top speed before collision in order to gain forward momentum. His engine is astonishing!

His footwork makes him so much ground. I’ve wanted just a bit more edge to him and I’ve never been on about him scrapping or throwing constant verbals around but I thought we saw a really good balance yesterday. He was hitting hard in the tackle and I liked his reaction when he forced an error from Bullock. There was really good intensity from him. Willie Isa on social media called him a leader and that should be his aim. Again you don’t have to shout and ball but you can lead through your actions. He was incredible and I can’t wait to see more of it.

THAT was my exact thought on Sunday. He is like Ian Roberts in style.
