we dont need another centre play joel there,he will get better the more he plays there.what we need badly with the cap space is a top class half back with a great kicking game and or a full back.deacons last season and roberts is to fragile.

I see what you're saying, but if it's true that Hoffman is going home at the end of the season and Hock is gonna be used at prop, I don't think Joel can stay at centre with him being IMO the best back rower we have.

the only thing being replaced this year is the SL champions at this rate. bad couple of months for Wigan on the whole IMO.

If Madge is still going to insist on playing Sam at 1, then we need another halfback so Tommy can go to hooker and Finch can play with Deacs or a new signing. Having said that, Carmont had an absolute shocker in defence at the weekend and we do look vulnerable. But, if Madge goes at the end of the season, I'm slightly worried that the player situation could become a mess. There just seems to be too much uncertainty at the moment. God knows what Hoffman, Lima and Finch must be thinking when their coach decides he wants to jump ship a few months after he signs them...

Gleeson was 3 and played on the right side.
Cooper has always been a left centre as we found out to our cost recently.
No quality 3's available so go with Joel, he may do a great job.
I do think though now Gleeson has gone IL won't want to lose two senior centres in one season so I'd imagine George will get another year's deal!

We defo need a new centre, Gleeson was very good IMO, if he plays with Briscoe they'll be an awesome combo for Hull.
Cooper is in line to play origin again this season, little to no chance he'd come to the UK. Same goes for the likes of Hodges etc.

Personally I'd like to see Charnley have a run out in the centres, KR played him there and he was outstanding, surely it's worth a punt.

How is Acton performing in the U20's? He looks a big lad with an eye for the try line. Top centres seem to be far and few between over here.

i would look into the matty bowen situation, i know hees a fullback but he has pace and im sure he could play , that would be worth a punt.

Far too small to be a centre. But nevertheless a great FB. Would allow Sam to move into the halves.

Personally I'd sooner sent Roberts back to Aus, sooner have the cap space. Goulding for me isn't good enough even on the wing let alone the centre.

The biggest error i think we made is releasing liam colbon and signing amos.

Colbon had more passion that amos has ever shown ....

problem is there arnt many decent centres available better than what we have.

in hindsight maybe we should have done a swop deal with Hull and taken Yeaman

Ben Pomeroy would be my number 1 target (although he does have a conviction to his name so this could affect his ability to get a visa) or make an enquiry about Hopoate of Manly. In my opinion we cannot lose 2 centres in quick succession so we need to recruit to replace Gleeson, with a promotion to replace Carmont at the end of this year or at a push retain him for 1 more year and bring his successor through rotating the 2 in 2012.

I wonder whether Iain Thornley has ever thought "if only I'd stayed". He'd have certainly been given the chance after Martin's departure.

To be fair to the lad I don't keep much of an eye on RU. So he could have pulling up trees for Sale for all I know. But had he stayed I'm quite sure he'd have seen a fair bit of first team action.

I think we'll cope ok this year. However I'm dreading next year when Carmont more than likely departs.
