The U20 game finished Wigan 50 Castleford 10.

Impressive from Wigan when you think that that Cas U20 beat Saints last week and twelve or thirteen of the Wigan lads still qualify at U18 level.

Phelps played today at fullback, so I doubt he will play tomorrow, especially as he went off late in the game with a leg injury.

Should have been even more convincing, really. 34-0 up at half time (despite missing 4 of 7 conversions. The first Cas try was a lucky bounce off a post, the second was the most non-try try I've ever seen. The crowd didn't even bother complaining, they just laughed at the ref & tj.

today was first time i remember the officials not getting shouted at leaving the pitch at half time.

Greg Burke for me. Really like this prop. Made a good 40/50 metre burst today. Only about 17/18 yet though.

I don't think any team sheets were produced. I did notice the Cas coach writing (what I assume was) their team out about 5 mins before KO, so maybe there wasn't time.

I don't know who our #16 was, either. Rogues probably will.

Edit: I think #16 took the (missed) conversion for Phelps's try, didn't he?

The lad wearing number 16 did attempt (and failed) to convert Phelps' try. I don't know who he was though.

16 was Jack Murphy 6 Declan Mcloughlin 8 Kyle Massam but dont think Sam Powell played if that helps.

Elsewhere not sure what happened to league leaders Hull but St Helens pumped them 64-4 away!

Wigan are now 4th in the table, two points behind Hull, and one point behind Saints and Wire. Wigan do however have a game in hand and a better points difference. I'm really surprised how well Wigan have done this season with so many players out on loan or dual registered, as I mentioned previously there were twelve or thirteen players yesterday in the Wigan U20 side who still qualify at U18 level.

Some big tough forwards, Massam, Crosby and Burke.

To me it shows good signs that the dual-reg system works and the way they have an uncompetitive Under 18s league is now making sense to me because our U18s are effectively playing U20s.

And as I said in my match report, both the Under 20s defeats came when we had been reduced to 12 men.

All set up I think for a cracking mini derby when Saints visit Orrell in two Saturday's time.

Something seriously wrong at Leeds academy if they are losing 52-0 at home to Wakefield. I know Wakefield are doing well recently but thats appalling for the once dominant academy force.
