Seems a bit pedantic, which doesn't surprise me with it being the RFL

| Are they all on holiday this week, and letting the secretaries run the disciplinary or something ???
12 incidents reviewed:
6 "No Charge" decisions
1 Formal caution
5 Warning letters
Not a single player brought in to Red Hall.

I think the RFL have gone over the top with doing things like this. Some of the things are completely harmless and accidental. If the RFL want to make a statement they need to harshly punish those players such as Westwood for wreckless challenges.

| Unfortunately Fielden has previous for raising the knee. He is not on his own though both Peacock and Smith did it for Leeds v Manly.

| Slightly off topic, but I've just watched Saturdays game again.
The two penalties given against Fielden in the first half were completely wrong.
He was penalised for holding down at the play the ball.
In both instances the Harlequins player crawls or rolls forward after the tackle is complete, so that as Fielden gets up it looks as though he is preventing him from playing the ball.

That seemed to be something Quins tried a lot in the game.
The ref imo could have penalised the Quins player for moving forward rather than Fielden.

Disagree. Fielden and O Loughlin both need to stop messing at the play of the ball. We were lucky that the French referee was more lenient than other SL referees.

Corrected for accuracy.
I sat through a 2 hour coaching session by listening in to the referees for that match.
He was constantly being corrected (including his tackle count - 3 times)
I'm sorry, but he is nowhere near Superleague standard, although I seem to recall hearing much the same with Ashley Klein when he first came over.

Absolutely correct.
I think the player involved in both was Danny Ward.
Instead of getting to his feet, he took to crawling along the floor in an attempt to get a penalty.
He did this, and got away with it, on any number of occasions on Saturday.

| In regards to Fieldens raised knee, well he has seemed to have got into a habit of 'stamping' his way in tackles. He is much more effective when he runs direct.

| The one thin that really annoyed me about Sat's performance is the lack of running onto the ball at pace. Feka was the only one doing it the whole game. If Fielden, Coley et al did it a bit more often we'd make a hell of a lot more yards...

Agreed. Fielden can bounce off tackles till he's blue in the face but he isn't making us anymore yards. If he's going to do that at least try and get the offload away otherwise he's just wasting energy.

They did. 5 matches for a high tackle is probably the highest punishment for this offence that they have given for years (and quite rightly too as it was a bad one).
There is no issue with sending letters to players, and it helps to then throw a ban at them if they continue.

That was so annoying to see. Fielden was looking around for what seemed an eternity for someone to take the ball in an offload and not one player came for it.

| Watch it again.
I was of the same opinion until I did.
Riddell got there but it would have been almost impossible for Fielden to get an accurate pass out.
Eveytime he handed/ bumped a player off another one was straight on him.

| Been saying for a number of years that I would penalise the player in possession more at the PTB for various reasons.
Kicking out, throwing the ball back,Crawling on their knees and most infuriatling of all "Walking off the mark"
I spotted this 2 mins into the game.
Spoke to a friend of mine (Aussie Ref who is likely to get some games over here soon, he's currently reffing NL1) and he agreed that walking off the mark is becoming more prevelant.

I agree. Unfortunately the way our game is reffed at the moment the attacking player is almost always going to get the penalty in these situations. Unless there was a complete turn around from the refs on the way the game is viewed (quick ptb at all costs) then this is always going to be the case.

| We're obsessed with this quick play the ball. All we then get are "scooters" from dummy half.
It's meant a virtual end to ball playing forwards and half backs.

Very true and although i makes our game faster it doesn't necessarily mean it's making it more skill full or even more fun to watch. I’d rather watch the NRL style anyway as the emphasis is on skill and not constant speed like SL.
Some Stains fans may come on here and try to shoot me down but give me a younger Newton or Cameron Smith/Robbie Farah any day of the week over a player like Roby. I’ve yet to see him truly control a game from start to finish in the way the above mentioned can.

Hence No Natural "Ball Players" who have to Craft open a Defense rather than do it off the back of quick PTB's.
As soon as we come against half decent defenses our "Star" half backs are clueless!
The best GB have is still Long and he has reinvented himself 200/2006 to becomethe player he is now instead of the Pacey/Support player of previous years.

The NRL is so far in front its not even worse discussing. All we can do effectively over here is "scoot" which leads to Eddie wetting his pants and droning on about SL this and that.
As proved in the world cup, once "Scoot" meets a decent defence, we really do have nothing.
