No one believed me when i said he will be coming in as Player/coach next season

I'm sure I've read somewhere that he's just signed an extension to his contract.

As long as he brings Owen with him I'll be pleased to see him back here.

Get him signed up the very second he is released if it's true. Exactly what we need at this moment in time a creative, hard as nails leader of a prop! Owen int he the centres two! The term two birds one stone springs to mind

I think he might still do a job at prop for us, think it would give the whole squad a massive lift

His knees are gone aren't they ? Remember him in his prime when he was with you and not the shadow of a player he'd be now.

It isn't going to happen! Union's where the money is.

I would imagine he'd be settled for life now though after the money he got offered from Rugby Union to go in the first place, and I can't see him staying coaching in Union when I'm pretty sure he's already got coaching certificates in League. So it is a possibility he could come back coaching in League at some point.

Hope Owen comes back then.

Reserve coach first. At most Assistant. No way should he be handed the reigns.

It's out the question for him to come back as a player IMO. What do we have left, 20-40k or something? About a 5th of what he's on in Union. I'd love him in on the coaching staff though however in-experienced.

bring the god home! in some capacity, whether that being player/assistant coach

he would certainly get the feathers ruffling amongst the lads and would instill instant leadership, impact prop at his best. in my opinion faz would still get in the england squad at prop.

Wouldnt mind Farrell coming back, but get Owen signed on a pro contract, it would be worth it.

Not if he's about to be released.

Mind you, I don't know whether there's any truth in that story or not.

Personally, I'd be stunned if he came back to us as a player. He hasn't done much down there, in real terms.

But as others have said, I'd have him on the staff somewhere if only to get Owen back.

Bring Andy Farrell in as Noble's assistant coach.
He's been Noble's captain before, know each other well and both must understand what each others game plans are.
We want Silverware, Noble has won more in recent times than any other coach and we must keep him.
We could also do with a "Wigan" figure of authority in the dressing room and surely there'd be no one better than Faz.
Getting his son Owen to return would be a real bonus.
Can't see where Faz could come in as senior coach without any experience.
I'm sure even he would admit that it would be a new job in which he would need time to learn.

Faz is signed to sarries til the end of the 2010 season.

i think faz would be fantastic for the club but not as a player. i dont think he is as fit as he was when he left.

why would owen want to come to us.

also many are mistaken when they say the money is ion union as its been reported recently union is losing money in the domestic game

The only thing Owen wanted to do was play for wigan..but he was dragged down south.

Faz is taking up a player coach role at Sarries according to today's Times

I hope that does not include him signing an extended deal. Both Andy and Owens contracts are up at the end of 2010, I would hope we could bring them both back to the club Andy as a coach, Owen as a player in 1 swoop.

Faz certainly needs some coaching experience before he can be considered for such a role at Wigan. I was hoping he'd get an assistant coaching role with us somewhere, but if he starts at Sarries, that's not too much of a disaster.

I can imagine Faz being an excellant motivating coach in union probably on the defensive side of the game. Id love to see him back at Wigan in a coaching role but its looking like another thats gone for good because i cant see Edwards coming back either.
