Batty lost us that game, No doubt about it, he has become a liability, not a patch on the player he was pre Canberra

Obviously the above post is an attempt to troll, but it's something I've seen mentioned a few times and wanted to touch on.

Whilst this analogy isn't "like for like" I kinda see Batty as a championship boxer who's got a little bit more civilized. He's conquered the world and whilst he's still performing at an elite level and is considered one of the best (which Bateman's numbers say he is), people will rightly point towards his younger days when the fire burned red hot and was a force of nature.

Bateman was, along with Havard, our best forward at the weekend. To say he cost us the game is laughable, but expected from some. This especially rings true, as it ignores other things like Isa's knock on, or the inability to stop Hurrell from offloading. All played an equal part.

We should look at bringing in Cam Murray, Kurt Capewell, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui or Isaah Yeo.

Bateman returned from Aus injured and has been slowly getting better ever since.

He had a stormer for England a few weeks ago, showing a glimpse of his Canberra form.

The brain dead Cumbrian cost us the game on Saturday - he should be going from the club IMO, as he's utter gash.

When Singleton comes back from his ban he should drop down the pecking order to 5th choice prop as he probably cost us the game

Singo was one of our best forwards in that game, doesn't get stopped as easy as Magooey

He did but to say he was poor is incorrect. Apart from that incident he had an excellent game.

He also scored a try that was converted (6 points) whereas the try his mistake led to wasn't (4) so really Batey as you like to call him contributed to Wigan leading the match.

Yes because leading the game is more important than winning the game

I have just read this about the Magic stats on Mikes site and thought I would post it here
