FPNs wife has posted quite a slanderous post on instgram regards to his ‘previous club’ stating he suffered racial comments at the hands of staff and was forced to play when injured. Went on to say she is glad to be away from the ‘terrible club and terrible country’



Will be interesting what the club has to say (if anything) with regards to this as in my opinion they need to quash it immediately whether that be through legal action etc. Sorry dont know how to post a screen shot of the comment maybe a younger more technica member of the board could be happy to oblige (if allowed)

I notice that she's slamming fans who have made comments about him too. If you don't want that, don't become a professional sportsman. Your wages are in part paid for by those people sat on those terraces and when you fail to do what you're paid to do, the fans have every right to comment on that.

She's just having a big old dummy spit for some reason.

Whether he was any good or not ( My personal opinion is he was better than people are saying in general) has nothing to do with any allegations and what is acceptable for someone to be subjected to.
Whatever money he was on Ditto - It's no excuse that some of your money or my money has paid for his wages - Racism or abuse is not acceptable
The fans may have right to comment - They don't have right to be Abusive etc.

Now saying all of that

I'd be interested to know if Mrs FPN and her husband lodged any complaints to the relevant authorities at the time or intend on doing so in the future and what Evidence they present to support this.
Seems interesting given that he had been trying to get out of his contract for 12 months but didn't want to give up any losses he would incur if he resigned with someone for less down under.

Whether that is by announcing they will be holding a full investigation and asking Mrs FPN & Her husband to present their evidence/statements
Or
If they already know what lies behind this then issuing a Full statement ASAP.

It already has. That’s where I saw it.

I don't condone racism or abuse (assuming it's genuine) either but I also believe if you decide to take up a career in the public eye you need to get the thickest skin possible. If you work in the public eye you get the spoils for doing good and you get the crap doing badly.

It's no different than if you're in a band or a comedian on stage for example. If you're great they'll clap and cheer you but if you're bad you get boo'd. I don't class it as abuse provided it relates to on field performance. Anything else then I'm with you.

She's clearly very emotional about it, even going so far as calling an entire country terrible. Given she has publicly claimed a club has been racist towards he husband and restricted the post to avoid being questioned on it says a lot.

I haven't seen the post in question, but from what posters here have said, it's about racial abuse. Players can and should be criticized if they're not playing well, but any form of racial abuse is not acceptable, and if any fans have been found to have abused Frank Paul, they should be reported to the authorities and banned from the club for life.

Regarding any allegations, I echo Jukesays points and think Wigan need to issue a statement and confirm whether an investigation has taken place or will take place.

If any staff have been found to have racially abused anybody, they should be terminated immediately. Wigan is a proud club that is synonymous with great black and Polynesian players. This would be a huge blight on our great club if it turns out to be true.

Given our past and present excellent relationships with players of all nationalities, colours and creeds, I seriously doubt that any of our staff would have said or done anything remotely racist, or they would have been found out already.

She makes several allegations. One is that the staff were racist towards him and another that fans were abuse whilst she could hear. My post simply refers to alleged abuse of players by fans. As I've stated any comments by fans that are not about his performances on the field are not okay.

Why would we be as a club be okay with Gelling/Leuleuai or any of the various Kiwi/Aborigine players of the past but not with Nu'uausala?

I guess there are always individual fans who might let the club down, but I’m not aware of hers or any other allegations being made public previously, about FPN or any other player.

Wigan really should take this further if they feel like she’s talking out of her behind.

I can’t take her seriously simply for the fact that they’ve gone back to Australia, presumably to avoid this horrible racism....good luck with that!!

I agree that accusations of racism against club staff seem very unlikely considering the international squad the club have always had.

The club certainly need to make a statement. But if the Nu'uausalas had issues, they should surely have raised them formally with the club whilst they were still here in the UK.

Racism is taken more seriously in the UK than in other countries, and can even lead to jail time.

So she'll need to back up these allegations with real evidence.

Seems to be a little more too it...both Josh Charnley and Taulima Tautai like the status, and Josh commented with a love heart, so I would suggest it is far from untrue. It certainly needs investigating by the club as this portrays an awful impression. I would absolutely hate to think the club through our "injury crisis" last year forced players to play when knowingly injured.

i would be absolutely shocked if there was any truth in this.
whatever you may think about SW, KR and IL on RL grounds - they have always struck me as open, honest and honourable.

whilst a club response would be good, perhaps better would be for a little bit of quiet and to let the incident slowly fade away, as the lady herself has obv decided that her OP was not perhaps her finest hour.

a quiet chat with her from the Club to discuss any issues she had - yes. but keeping this alive does no one any good, unless there are genuine grievances.

Blows everything she’s just said out of the water in my opinion. Putting a ‘!’ Instead of a ‘i’ doesn’t excuse it either.

However it should be investigated at the club btw.
