The Aussies don't want to travel but Wire could travel instead which is what Wigan were planning to do if they hadn't won.

I think it is a real shame if Wire and Hull do not get games. I do wish that their assistance would support them international game and stop messing us about. I hope England can win the four nations and then the WC so that maybe they might start taking seriously.

Is that because Warrington are still not classified as a " big" club due to there GF 100% failure rate.

I think the 3 Wire fans in the picture have a problem, the tin of paint they keep at the ready to fill YEAR in will have skinned over and they will have to throw it away and get a new tin.

I'm just glad we've made the proper world club game because I really didn't see the point in us playing another glorified friendly unless they were indeed using it as a pre season tour down under.

As for Wire, what can you say?! The wait goes on and for all the glittering rugby they've played through the year, I would have been pretty miffed on Saturday if I were a Wire. Their 'gameplan' consisted of constant scoots from dummy half and a raft of hit and hope bombs (which nearly worked).

Wire froze a little IMO on Saturday and went away from their usual style of play. They'll need to be braver then that to get one over the line. Full credit to Tony Smith and the players though because they were very gracious in defeat.

I still dont know why Mark Calderwood decided to get involved....

Poor Hull as well they had a thread on the WCC right after the Wembley win they were quite excited about it..

I'm not fussed to be honest I wouldn't have wanted to play the Storm we'd have so many players injured by them it would be unreal.

plus we put a lot of effort in to trying to beat the dragons in 2015 (mainly due to some niggle that happened in a previous pre season training session we had with them a couple of years prior which ended being a bit tasty). we lost 12-18 and it ruined the start of our season and we never recovered from it and finished 7th. it was literally our best performance of the season!!

the whole attitude of the Sydney based NRL towards expanding the game is non existent. Christ they wont even take an NRL grand final to Brisbane.

drop the WCC lets grow our own game spend money over here not on the likes of the melbourne storm and cronulla sharks two of the dodgiest rugby league clubs on the planet....

I bet your SOOOOOOO GLAD you lost Saturday now!
I mean god forbid winning the grand Final and then having to put up with playing the WCC the following year and it ruining Next year's chances of winning the GF!






Maybe an example of different attitudes to challenges by different clubs - Some look for them & Embrace, Some Don't want them.

you've just seen I'm a wire fan on a wigan forum and started frothing at the mouth before you could log on....!!

I think we as a club ( or Simon Moran) in particular were one of the architects of the expanded system.....and we were quite prepared to pay whatever it cost to expand our brand by playing an NRL club in the expanded series.

it was a great experience playing the dragons in a near full stadium but had i known how badly we would play for the following couple of months i'd rather not have done it.

if you think that some how equates to not wanting to win the league then deary me

And as for frothing at the mouth, ridiculous.
So what if Simon moran and the club backed the idea.

You then went on to complain about the aussies not buying into the expansion and then wanting to call it off yourself anyway?
You then complain that you don't want Melbourne or crenellated here because of their "Dodgy" history. They would give you loads of injuries etc.
So we pick and choose when we play based on how we perceive the opponents credibility, style of play etc?

Win on Saturday and your all over us and desperate to play in the WCC.
Now trust me, however tough you think the runners up game is its not a patch on the real thing, but something I'd want to be part of every year.

Dissapointed we didn't win but I'm very positive and were'nt far off from being treble winners. We've got Mike Cooper coming next year plus Crosby who looked good in the final, plus big players to come back in Currie, Dodds and Westwood ( who'll be a bit older admittedly)- these players will go a long way to sorting our pack out. Plus a (should be) fully fit Sandow. Bring on next year, it might be our year eventually!

Why don't Wire go over there and play someone other than Melbourne. Play a couple of games and make a tidy sum of money.

Haven't heard anything, I hope not. He didn't even play 80 mins for us but looked promising in that time.

Ben Evans has gone to London, not sure on Dodds.

Crosby will be a good signing for them if that ones true.

In two or three years we could be sat here looking back at letting Crosby go (if it happens) and asking why, fact is though if everyone is fit he isn't in the team. I doubt he wants to sit around on lesser wages than he could get at Wire as a starting 17 prop each week. Also I'm sure we need to spend money elsewhere as prop is a position we are well blessed in.
