| Has to be more to it than that. Charnley was far from the worst performer in Sydney

I think the fact that Bowen, Goulding, Dudson, Hughes etc didn't play yesterday probably says a lot.

| I've yet to watch the game back since returning from Sydney but I don't recall him doing too much wrong. It hurts to say it but they were stronger, faster, better skilled and more organised than us. You could have stuck an in-form Lesley Vainikolo on that wing and we would still have got thrashed. I suspect there must be something more behind this

| apart from the 2nd half in the grand final i don't think charnley has played well since widnes at home last season. Clear as day light said he was shopping him self around in the NRL and i can't remember the last time he took a player on with out surrendering, he is capable of a lot more ansi think thats the point shaun is taking.

But Charnley is the only one that Wane has confirmed as being dropped, the others were 'rested'?

| Wand hasn't publicly spoken about any of the others who were rested/dropped. Maybe he was getting a little big for his boots and needed bringing down a peg or two.

When we played Huddersfield at home during that period he scored one of the best tries I've ever seen, beating 3 men in the process

| Really don't understand that. I don't think he did any worse than any of the other players in the WCC. Surely it's something else in addition to this as there were plenty of players who didn't perform to their potential. Or as someone said, maybe he's getting a bit too big for his boots. I've only met him once, but he did seem a bit cocky (however I could be completely off the mark with this comment).

| Charnleys appalling missed tackle on Jennings for their first try was bad enough to be made to sit out a game but he didn't do a great deal wrong after that.
You do have to wonder if it's something off the field that has annoyed Wane a little. It's going to be very interesting to see if he makes the team at Cas this weekend. The two young lads did a fine job yesterday but going up against a beast like Justin Carney will be a totally different challenge.

| Maybe it's something to do with Charnley's agent allegedly making a public statement about wanting to use the WCC to help secure Josh a big contract with another club?
I know Wigan tend not to officially comment on things like - very, very annoying though they are - but perhaps Waney's decided it's time someone registered their disapproval.
I know I would.

| No problems with this whatsoever. If Josh is starting to believe his own hype I guess this is SW's way of bringing him back down to Earth a bit and remind him he needs to keep working hard, similar to when Briscoe was selected ahead of him for England. And with 2 excellent prospects on the wing chomping at the bit then why not.
There were obviously a few poor performances in Sydney, but the bad miss on Jennings within the first 5 minutes did set the tone for the first half when we needed to keep it tight and go toe-to-toe with them.

Well, I'm not going to just post it on here in case there's no truth in it but it's allegedly a 'disciplinary' issue. I hope not though...

| I actually thought in the WCC charley was one who was giving 110% in his usual style. His defence is/ was suspect at times, so I doubt he was dropped for that. I think it may be the case that he's been touting for a move. A shame really that a player is attempting to engineer a move (if he is) when the club have given him so much.

| The last time Wane gave him a public kick up the backside was after Ryan Hall outplayed him in a Leeds game and his form after that went through the roof. Let's hope this has the same effect.
If it doesn't though I don't think we need to worry about our options because both Manfredi and Burgess look first team ready. The way Burgess scored that try yesterday was top class and there's not too many wingers in superleague that would have finished it.

| Think burgess is ready but not sure manfredi is yet. Looks like he hasn't quite got the fitness levels yet. Outpaced by Matty smith on a kick chase and Liam Farrell on chasing back for a tackle. I would guess when fresh he is faster than both so him being outpaced on those occasions suggested to me he was a bit leggy and struggling with the pace. Bear in mind that's against Wakefield too so not one of our tougher games. Think it's a case of ease him in gently and manage him well. Clearly got bags of potential.

Without a shadow of a doubt Charnley missed the pre season and Hudds games due to having an hernia opp.
If something has happened after that then fair play but he's 100% definitely had a hernia opp.

| Don't have a problem with Wane dropping the player if he thinks it justified. Exercising such judgment is what he is paid to do.
We can debate if we think his form justified it or not (it is what this place is for) but it is Wane's call.
What I don't agree with is the public airing of this by SW. I don't care if Charnley played a blinder after being outplayed by Hall I don't think public criticism of anyone ever does any good. I think SW still needs to learn to when to not give the press TMI.
