| If Brough has chosen Scotland, does that mean he's eligible for the Exiles? For that matter are Flower, Dudson etc eligible for the Exiles too or is it just overseas players?

| Just overseas.
Looks like McNamara is going with Sinfield and Chase as halves as most of us feared.

I don't think that HB partnership works at all but with Brough electing to play for Scotland and Widdop obviously not being available for the Exiles game, do we have a better one?

| I predict the same old squad from McMastermind although I am surprised that he hasn't stayed 100% true to his previous form and picked Wilkin

| Who is likely to play centre there? Cudjoe + ? Are Atkins and Ratchford injured/in poor form? I don't know what Danny Brough has to do to get picked, or why we're still picking Adrian Morley for international friendlies at 36 years of age. I'm sure McManara doesn't even watch Super League and just picks the same guys he picked when he took over as coach. The only players missing from the usual are Wilkin and Ablett.

Was asked on SKY last night if he would like to play for England and responded with a resounding "NO".

I would imagine he's been told the situation by McNamara before hand. Maybe his little 'up yours' gives an insight as to why he doesn't get picked for England and his post career CV will have as many clubs as Bobby Goulding's.

Carl Ablett is out with a hand injury, don't worry McBanana will get him in the world cup squad ready to embarrass fellow "centre" Greg Inglis.

He can't help but score with Wilkin punching holes in the defence and Chase feeding him quality ball

| The selection doesnt surprise me one bit.
Brough should be in there without a shadow of a doubt.
Danny Houghton should be in there - his form has been brilliant, he was at the heart of Hulls win against Leeds and Burrow did nothing but hes still picked?
For me, Sinfield wouldnt be anywhere near an England shirt. Hes a decent player, but massively overrated. Hes not a stand off for a starter and hes not as good as O'Loughlin at loose forward.
Chase shouldnt be in that team - purely because hes not English.
If we go with Sinfield and Chase for the world cup, we will get our s handed to us.

| Am i reading it correctly on here but are people seriously suggesting Danny Brough for the national team? People really want to put a player who's only real attribute is kicking the ball up against the Aussies?
He falls into the Lee Briers category of a big fish in a small pond but NEVER international class.

Sinfield isn't the answer but he's a dam sight better player and person to have in your team than Brough ever will be.
ATEOTD Sinfield has played a pivotal role at HB in a Leeds team that have won numerous BIG games and GF trophies. If it's a straight shoot out between the two then there's not much competition really and Sinfield wins by a wide margin.
Now if you want to speak about other possible contenders such as Widdop or Tomkins in the halves i'd be happy to oblige but let's leave the stupid talk of Brough being international class to the Hudds fans.

You can add Widdop, Reed, Burgess(es), Graham to that squad for the WC.

| I can't understand everyone's moaning about who's picked for England in this game against the exiles,as come the end of the season and if all the NRL boys are fit then we have a pack to match everyone
Does anyone on here believe that we can pick anyone from absolutely any possible club or country as long as they we're England eligible and would make up a side that would compete with Australia's back line?
The only back that would get into the Aussie back line would be Hall IMO although Sam would be very close to Slater, but sadly there it ends fella's

| The only issue I have with the squad is Morley being in there. He's a legend, he's achieved an awful lot in his career and seems a good bloke but he's not up to it anymore.
Other then that I don't see where he's made too many errors in selection (unusual for McNamara I know). He's got some excellent young players in there like Hardaker, Charnley, Farrell and Hill and has picked a real deserving player in Ferres above a no hoper like Wilkin.
As for the halfbacks he can only work with what he's got. Maybe Brough is unlucky but there's always that nagging doubt over his big game ability.
We can't forget the NRL boys are to come in or that we have a couple of good options injured.

| Danny Brough should be in over Chase - regardless of nationality IMO. Adrian Morley should be nowhere near the squad anymore - with all due respect to everything he has achieved in his career.
Other than that, I can't find any faults. Ferres deserves his shot as does Cudjoe. You could possibly make the case for Atkins being in there, but I think he has said in the past that playing against the Aussies a couple of years ago really knocked his confidence.
Danny Houghton is a good player, but what will he offer as an impact player? He's an 80 minute grafter whereas Burrow can offer a plan b if things need a shake up.
The only other point is I wonder if Gaz Hock would have been in the squad had he not been banned.
Team for the Exiles for me:
Sam Tomkins
Josh Charnley
Leroy Cudjoe
Zak Hardaker
Ryan Hall
Rangi Chase
Kevin Sinfield
Eorl Crabtree
James Roby
Lee Mossop
Gareth Ellis
Ben Westwood
Sean O'Loughlin
----------------------------------------
Rob Burrow
Chris Hill
Adrian piggin' Morley
Liam Farrell
Ferres, Myler and JJB on standby.
Good side.
